Ramon Calderon
Ramon Calderon
Size, speed, swaggery and a statement is how I’d describe Ramon Calderon and his senior season. The Lynbrook product had another huge game this past weekend and he looked dangerous whenever he had the ball. He only had 9 touches but he turned that into 195 yards of offense and 3 touchdowns. At 6’2, this young man is one of the fastest players for his size here on Long Island. He had one of the top plays from this season, Calderon made a catch near the sideline where he broke one tackle then juked a defender sending him flying into the sideline. Calderon then turned on the jets for the long TD. His acceleration was also on display when he ran for a 65 yard touchdown and also caught a 38 yard pass in the endzone doing an impressive job tracking the ball while being double teamed.
It was a battle of 4-0 teams under the lights, but it was the sophomore sensation Aidan Winter Aidan Winter 6’0″ | 180 lbs | ATH Babylon | 2026 State NY stealing the show. Breaking a school record with 329 rushing yards as he helped Babylon to a 5-0 record and a road win over Center Moriches. Winter has developed that “it” factor. He’s been on varsity since the 8th grade and he has that big game mentality. Winter runs with a purpose to move the chains and he has the speed to break big ones. We saw both of those traits on display. Winter hits the hole hard and displays amazing vision when following his blockers. Winter has nifty moves in the open field and he utilized them when juking past defenders and accelerating for big gains. Most of these plays were designed QB runs with the defense stacking the box and it simply didn’t matter. He continued to move the chains and he proved he was the best athlete on the field.

One of the top overall players in New York simply separated himself from the rest of Nassau Conference 3. It’s no secret that Galindo is a dominant offensive lineman in conference three but what he did on the defensive side against an unbeaten Wantagh team was something special. The 6 ‘3 295 pound Colgate commit was a monster on defense. He posted eight tackles which included three TFL’s, two forced fumbles and a sack. He changed the game and limited a Wantagh offense that was averaging over 36 PPG to just 7 points. And then Galindo did his thing on the offensive line. He moves very well for his size and he blocked tremendously in space. His burst helped him excel on both sides of the line as he physically and athletically gave Wantagh a major mismatch.

It was another monster performance for Filardi and he continues to make an argument for being one of the top QB’s in New York. Filardi went 24/36 and posted 381 yards passing while adding 110 yards on the ground. He finished with 5 passing touchdowns and 1 rushing touchdown. There were two things that were extremely impressive with Filardi. His quick reads and decision making, and his ability to scramble and always make something happen. Kings Park was able to get pressure on Filardi in this game but it didn’t matter. He wasted no time getting rid of the football and he made accurate throws on his very quick decisions throughout the contest. He was also avoiding sacks left and right and was able to take off and gain a lot of yards. His ability to run at a high level and make tough throws on the run was impressive. He has a certain flow to his game and throws some of the best balls on Long Island.

In the Parkway Power Bowl between Longwood and Floyd we knew there would be a lot of running right up the middle but Aaron Fisher Aaron Fisher 6’2″ | 250 lbs | DL William Floyd | 2025 State NY was ready. The big defensive tackle for William Floyd owned the middle of the line by continuously getting by his guy with good hands and a lot of power. Longwood’s ground and pound style played right into the hands of Fisher as he came away with 11 tackles and made sure Longwood never got into any rhythm on the ground. Fisher is having a fantastic season along with the rest of this big and tough Floyd defense.
It was a must win game for Chaminade as they took on their rival Kellenberg, and the Flyers won handily. And the main reason why, had to be the lineman controlling this entire game. The physicality of Lucas Catogio and this lineman unit overwhelmed the Firebirds. On a goal line run, Cattogio moved his man out of the way then chucked him to the ground for a highlight reel block. But the consistency is what impressed me when looking into Catogio’s game. He pretty much pushed back the defensive lineman he faced on most run play. The Flyers were playing smash mouth football and Catogio showed his physical dominance in this one. His athleticism has always been solid but now we’re seeing how he can demolish opposing lineman and open up huge holes.
