One of the best statistical performances you’ll see out of a player this season. Bacon had 3 receiving touchdowns, 3 interceptions including a pick six and a fumble recovery. New York’s top prospects excelled on the big stage against a very good St John The Baptist team. Bacon started his afternoon by perfectly reading a route and jumping it. Bacon got the interception and took it to the house with his breakaway speed. On offense his size was a nightmare for these Cougars corners. He ran a fade route in the end zone and mossed his defender for an insurance touchdown. Bacon also lined up in the slot where he caught a pass over the middle and accelerated to the end zone where he powered past a defender. Bacon was a reception machine over the middle and SJB couldn’t figure out how to stop him. He also had one of the best hustle plays I saw all year where he sprinted over 50 yards to have a touchdown saving tackle and it preserved the shutout victory.
In Nassau Conference 2, Aziz Kamran Aziz Kamran 6’3″ | 185 lbs | WR Herricks | 2025 NY makes an argument as the top wide receiver in the entire division. At 6 foot 3 he causes problems for these undersized corners. He has been excellent in 50/50 ball scenarios all year long. And against Calhoun, that was one of the couple of areas he thrived in. Despite losing the game, Kamran was a monster, he collected 12 catches for 163 yards and 2 scores. When they were trailing 36-22, Kamran took a screen pass and put the team on his back. Almost quite literally, when he broke five tackles and had a magical run into the endzone. They utilized him on screen passes to get yards and then they kept throwing it up to the big man. Kamran had great body positioning and was able to high point the ball to come away with some great catches in jump ball situations.

You might not see a more efficient performance from a wide receiver this season than what we witnessed from Jesse Brooks Jesse Brooks 6’2″ | 165 lbs | WR Half Hollow Hills West | 2025 State NY . He had 5 catches for 185 yards and 5 touchdowns. All five of his receptions found the endzone in another big win for Hills West. In single coverage he torched ESM downfield. A deep post he ran found him wide open for a long touchdown. Brooks also ran a route to the corner of the end zone where he absolutely lost his defender after selling him one way with a head fake and then a sharp cut and change of direction left him all alone for an easy TD. I also saw the ball tracking ability from Brooks who has some of the best hands in Suffolk County. On the last play of the half, Filardi threw a deep ball that sailed just over 4 players heads and Brooks somehow kept track of the ball and made a difficult grab for a TD. Brooks cruised to another stellar performance.

This game for West Babylon was a “prove it” game against a very talented Northport team and the Eagles thrived. A huge reason for their success is what Outlaw did at quarterback. He had two passing touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns in the big win. Outlaw made a play that reminded me of prime Johnny Manziel. Outlaw was scrambling and running backwards before ultimately avoiding defenders and making an unreal throw on the run for a touchdown. That play was the number 1 play on the Varsity Media top 10 plays of the week. Outlaw’s running ability in short yardage situations were also impressive. Outlaw showed off an incredible spin move for one of his TD’s. He runs smart knowing when to go out of bounds but also will lower the shoulder effectively to get into the end zone or for a first down. The strong arm QB aired it out a ton downfield including an unbelievable 47 yard pass on the run for a huge completion. Outlaw proved that he is a “big game” player last week.
Part of the reason why Dalers have been so successful because of their star running back. After the recent tragedy, Farmingdale got an emotional win over Port Washington and Posillico ran for 231 yards and three touchdowns and had one of the top defensive IQ plays I’ve seen. At RB, Posillico is a tough runner and he hit the hole hard and exploded to the second level consistently against Port Washington. He had blazing speed to the outside which helped him get free for some key runs. On defense Posillico had a key tackle for loss helping hold the Vikings to just 14 points. He also had an incredible heads up play where he saw his teammate was near him and he leaped out of bounds to keep the ball in, he batted it to his teammate for the interception for an incredible play.
