Bacon Jr is listed as a TE but in all reality, he may play another position because of the athleticism he displays on tape. Bacon Jr has always been a top prospect in the state and his performances as a Senior showcased stronger hands and route running offensively while defensively showing better play speed and how quickly he reads and reacts. Bacon Jr has been a consistent performer in New York but the Senior tape showcases a much more detailed developed game to go along with the athleticism and size the we see on tape.

One of the best statistical performances you’ll see out of a player this season. Bacon had 3 receiving touchdowns, 3 interceptions including a pick six and a fumble recovery. New York’s top prospects excelled on the big stage against a very good St John The Baptist team. Bacon started his afternoon by perfectly reading a route and jumping it. Bacon got the interception and took it to the house with his breakaway speed. On offense his size was a nightmare for these Cougars corners. He ran a fade route in the end zone and mossed his defender for an insurance touchdown. Bacon also lined up in the slot where he caught a pass over the middle and accelerated to the end zone where he powered past a defender. Bacon was a reception machine over the middle and SJB couldn’t figure out how to stop him. He also had one of the best hustle plays I saw all year where he sprinted over 50 yards to have a touchdown saving tackle and it preserved the shutout victory.

It was a big weekend for the Luhi product. Bacon collected offers from LIU and Fordham. The 6’4 athlete has great size and athleticism and he’s been stringing together solid performances at camps all summer long. Bacon has the potential to capture the eyes of a lot of schools during his senior year.

At 6-4, Bacon Jr can make contested catches and high point the football consistently. Bacon Jr plays both WR and TE for Long Island Lutheran and at this size it is easy to see his projection as a receiving first tight end at the next level. However, Bacon Jr has really good athleticism so if adding size is not in the plans his ability to be a deep threat as a receiver can translate too. Between his speed and ability to make those difficult catches Bacon Jr is a really solid prospect on the offensive side of the ball. On defense played safety where his length and range made it tough for QBs to target his area. Bacon Jr was a solid tackler and does a good job of closing in on the ball to make plays. Bacon Jr has good ball skills where he can create turnovers and even be a threat on the return. Overall, Bacon Jr is a really solid prospect on both sides of the ball. This season, to take the next step Bacon Jr will have to dominate at one of his positions and take that jump from showcasing good reps on film to dominant reps on film.

Bacon Jr is a smooth route runner who dominates at the catch point and is a vertical threat. Bacon Jr has the lower body strength and toughness to fight for extra yards and is dangerous over the middle of the field. Bacon Jr also has the versatility to line up as a tight end, in the slot, or out wide and be effective from all three positions.
