Today, we will be continuing my “Kentucky Stock Up Performers” series as we evaluate some high-level playmakers that made their presence known on the field in Week 11 of the season.
At the top of my list of notable performers is Easton Jessie Easton Jessie 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Adair County | 2025 State KY , a 6-foot-1, 180-pound quarterback at Glasgow High School. Jessie and the Scotties escaped Somerset in a thrilling 22-21 win last week. What impresses me the most about Jessie’s playstyle is his explosive arm strength and pin-point accuracy in the air, consistently hitting his receivers in stride on deep passes. I also like Jessie’s ability to quickly execute, launching deep shots down the field within a few seconds of the snap. Jessie’s ability to escape the defense on the ground has also greatly contributed to his success this season.
Highlights
I am additionally impressed with Gray Schmittel Gray Schmittel 5'11" | 160 lbs | WR North Oldham | 2025 State KY , a 5-foot-11, 160-pound wide receiver at North Oldham High School. Schmittel and the Mustangs collected a 29-7 win over Oldham County this past week. Schmittel stands out with his size, speed and ability to maneuver the field, utilizing bursts of quickness and versatility to escape pressure and avoid defensive contact on his way to the house. Schmittel also makes his presence known on defense, showing off his ability to disrupt the offense in coverage as well as pick off the quarterback in the endzone.
Brennan Robinson
Brennan Robinson
Claiming the number three spot on my list is Brennan Robinson, a 6-foot-1, 215-pound athlete at Franklin County High School. Robinson and the Flyers picked up a 48-7 blowout victory over George Rogers Clark last week. Robinson impresses me with his explosiveness down the stretch as well as his reliability on deep passes. Robinson also stands out with his durable edge, proving he can break tackles on his way to the endzone. Robinson’s ability to quickly blast into the redzone and be prepared for touchdown passes is another facet of his game that has made a difference this year.
De’Shawn Bridges
De’Shawn Bridges
Another skilled prospect to keep an eye on is De’Shawn Bridges, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound athlete at South Warren High School. Bridges and the Spartans claimed a 42-6 win over Logan County last week. Bridges has been nearly unstoppable down the stretch, showcasing his breakaway speed and ability to attack the ball in coverage. Bridges also impresses me on the other side of the ball, providing strong coverage in the backfield and disruptiveness to the opposition in the air. I also like how Bridges can protect the backfield from offensive playmakers, using his physicality and toughness to make commanding stops.
Chanse Smith
Chanse Smith
Coming in at number five on my list is Chanse Smith, a 5-foot-9, 200-pound athlete at Marion County High School. Smith and the Knights recorded a 53-14 rout of Grant County this past week. Smith is an efficient ground weapon, barreling past the defense in the pocket to break free into the open field and take it all the way to the endzone. Another aspect of Smith’s playstyle that stands out is his footwork and ability to maneuver the field, using bursts of speed in the backfield to break tackles, boost offensive production and put his team on the scoreboard.
