Week 6’s Top Passing Performances
In a statement win for the Ramblers, Parrott played effectively to ensure the victory. On the road at Governor Livingston, Carteret won 55-7 as Parrott had one of the most efficient games any quarterback may have ever had. Parrott was 11 of 12 through the air for 322 yards and 4 touchdowns.
In a key game for Robbinsville as they look to the post season, their quarterback had his most prodigious game yet. In their 42-14 win at Lawrence, Hanuscin was 14 of 16 for 325 yards while he threw 4 touchdowns to just 1 interception in the contest. Hanuscin also punched it in on the ground once as well.
Something must have been in the air this week as several quarterbacks had extremely efficient games. Deprima, a quaterback we have previously covered, had his most efficient and explosive game thus far. In the 40-o win at River Dell, Deprima was 17 of 18 for 336 yards and an impressive 6 touchdowns. Deprima did not throw a pick and has not done so at all this season.
Having a fine season of his own, Anderson was a big part of Woodbridge’s clean sweep of their two cross-town rivals this year. In, literally, a perfect game the quarterback Anderson might have just been 9 of 9 passing; however, those 9 completions went for 281 yards and 6 of the 9 passes went for touchdown strikes. Anderson has now thrown 15 touchdowns to just 1 interception this year.
Week 6’s Top Receiving Performances
Iannacone had a game so effective on both offense and defense that he could have been a top performer on either side of the ball this week; however, his star might have shined brightest on offense. In a convincing 44-7 victory over Verona, Iannacone hauled in 10 receptions for 172 yards and a score. As effective as he was as a target, he shut down opposing targets too as he made 6 stops and 2 interceptions as a defender.
Somewhat quietly having an outstanding year, Schnorrbusch had his best game of the season last week. Aside from blanking River Dell 40-0 on the road, Schnorrbusch had his best game 0on record. The senior receiver made 7 receptions for 202 yards while scoring 4 times in the game. His longest reception went for 68 yards.
Ciccotelli’s name is yet another one that has come up big in recent weeks as his spectacular senior season continues. With the 35-14 victory at Warren Hills, Parsippany Hills extended their record to 5-2, including a 4 game winning stream. In this one Ciccotelli had 7 catches for 190 yards and 3 touchdowns. Ciccotelli has now scored in four straight games and in six games overall; while also having six straight games with 7 receptions or better.
Playing a prep school schedule in New Jersey can seem somewhat week-to-week at times. That said, it is all the more important why you must always be ready. Baptiste was more than ready this week, as he did his part to keep Peddie Prep in the game as they lost a 34-33 game to Hill Prep out of the Keystone State. Baptiste went off for 8/195/2 in the air in the loss.
Week 6’s Top Rushing Performances
It is hard to win games when you cannot stop the run. Raritan realized this as Scully ran rampant all across the field. In the 40-13 victory over Raritan, Colts Neck’s Scully ran for 253 yards and 4 touchdowns on 19 attempts.
All the way down south, perhaps the southern of the most southern points in New Jersey, Carr-Wing led Lower Cape May to a 46-22 victory at Pitman. During this game Carr-Wing absolutely exploded for 319 yards and 4 touchdowns on 24 carries. Lower Cape May and Carr-Wing look to ride the wave into next week.
After being identified as a player to watch out for earlier in the year, Butler-Mayhew replicated his success from a few short weeks ago home against Eastern. In a 29-7 victory, Butler-Mayhew sprung loose for another big game. In addition to converting one, two-point conversion, the talented back rushed 32 timeds for 235 yards and 3 touchdowns.
In maybe the most well-rounded game of any prospect this week, McCleary’s biggest impact might have been on the ground as a runner. McCleary rushed just 9 times for a whopping 245 yards and 5 touchdowns in the 42-0 victory at Hoboken. McCleary was also 7 of 14 for 107 yards passing while he also made 11 tackles and 1 tackle for loss on defense.
Week 6’s Top Kicking Performances
In one of the more lopsided scores of the weekend, Pleasantville defeated Clayton 62-0. In the game Aguierre, the Greyhound’s kicker, had his most active game of the season. Aguierre was 8 of 9 in PATs throughout the game.
In a big 40-27 victory on the road against rival Paramus Catholic, Seton Hall Prep seemed to be firing on all cylinders offensively. Special teams wise Catchpole, the Pirates’ kicker, had a very solid game. Catchpole was 4 of 5 on PATs; however, he proved yet again he is one of the state’s most reliable place kickers going 2 of 2 on field goal attempts. He is now 8 of 8 on the season.
During Mainland’s five-game winning streak, Kashey, their place kicker, has been as consistent as any other prospect on the roster. This week in a 44-0 victory at Absegami, Kashey was 5 of 6 on PATs while also nailing his only field goal attempt – a 33 yarder.
