In perhaps the most prolific season for a quarterback in recent memory, Landon Deprima Landon Deprima 6'2" | 180 lbs | ATH Ramapo | 2024 NJ led Ramapo to state championship game appearance. Deprima is a player that I would describe as having moxie. He is certainly shiftier and faster than he appears. Deprima moves in the pocket just enough to create adequate space for him to throw. Similarly, he steps up in the pocket very nicely to deliver a strike, while using the stiff arm in the open field to evade would-be tacklers. His most impressive play might be the second clip on his highlights where he rolls out left and throws an absolute dot about 40 yards on a fade route for a touchdown. When rolling out he will maintain a throwing-threat posture despite his intentions to tuck it and run. Deprima utilizes the pump fake in a way where he slightly puts the ball away and reloads to launch it downfield. Ultimately Deprima seems to be at his best when things break down in the pocket. Areas I want to see more from Deprima are: an expedited release, look off defenses with his eyes, and show a larger variety of routes from the route tree on his film.

Pulling off another rabbit-out-the-hat in a close playoff victory home against Mount Olive, the state’s most prolific passer was back to doing what he does best. In the 24-19 victory, Deprima was 21 of 27 for 262 yards and 3 scores, while not throwing an interception.

Landon has set himself apart as one of the most talented QBs in the state. Throwing for both scores in the 14-10 sectional finals, Landon just continues to add to his resume, and will look to expand it even further this weekend. Throwing for 39 touchdowns so far this year, Landon will go down as one of the leading passers ever in the state when all is said and done. Landon is ready to lead his team to the promised land, but must get by a stout Mt. Olive first.

An incredible season for Deprima continues. In Ramapo’s 52-27 victory over Morris Knolls, Deprima had another incase stat line. Going 32 of 48, Deprima tossed 6 touchdowns and 477 yards worth of offense. Adding to his total Deprima took of and ran twice for 48 yards and 1 score. Although he did throw 1 interception in this one, Derima has a 37:3 touchdown to interception ratio this year.

Deprima has turned heads all year long, leading Ramapo to a perfect 10-0 record entering state quarterfinal weekend and collecting countless superlatives along the way. Aside from finishing his prep career with a state championship, Deprima has much to look forward to as his time as a high school player wind down. In the fall of 2024 Deprima will be donning the color crimson, as he will head to Massachusetts and be the quarterback of the future for Harvard.

One of the leading passers in the state, and one of the only ones to cross the 30 passing touchdown mark, Landon DePrima has been on fire all season. With 2610 passing yards and 37 touchdowns so far this season, Landon has been nearly impossible to slow down. Ramapo’s offensive has been averaging nearly 40 points a game this season, and have blown out the majority of the teams they have gone up against. The closest matchup of the season thus far for Ramapo occurred in late September, against the team they will be going up against in the section finals. Northern Highlands gave Ramapo the best fight yet, and a rematch this weekend is sure to excite like the last meeting.

Ramapo has one of the top throwers in the state. The senior QB, Landon DePrima, has unleashed an aerial assault on defensive units this year, throwing for 2133 yards and 31 touchdowns. He is a very accurate deep ball thrower, having the ability to hit his target in stride. Landon is also a deceivingly quick runner, and has strong legs that keeps him moving through arm tackles. The Harvard commit has ran for 543 yards and 6 touchdowns in his senior year so far.

Something must have been in the air this week as several quarterbacks had extremely efficient games. Deprima, a quaterback we have previously covered, had his most efficient and explosive game thus far. In the 40-o win at River Dell, Deprima was 17 of 18 for 336 yards and an impressive 6 touchdowns. Deprima did not throw a pick and has not done so at all this season.

All the way up north is where Deprima of Ramapo is getting his work done in a sneakily efficient and quiet manner. Now 4-0, the Raiders most recently defeated Hackensack by a score of 48-0. It was their third straight shutout and third straight game of scoring 41 or more points. Deprima, their senior quarterback, had an efficient-yet-explosive game, completing 13 passes on 17 attempts for 278 yards and 4 touchdowns. This boils down to a 23.8 yards per completion average. Ramapo will look to stretch their winning streak to five games next week at Group IV perennial contender Northern Highlands.
