Eagle 28 – Mountain View 14
Eagle walked away with a big time victory as they outright won the 5A SIC River Division with a dominant defensive performance along with an amazing rushing attack. Noah Burnham Noah Burnham 5'9" | 165 lbs | RB Eagle | 2026 State ID showed why he is considered one of the best backs in the entire state rushing for 173 yards with three touchdowns. Davis Harsin Davis Harsin 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Eagle | 2024 State ID showed his senior leadership all night going 10-17 for 149 yards and a touchdown while in complete command of Eagles offense. Seth Brock Seth Brock 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL Eagle | 2024 State ID showed why he is considered by many to be the top defender in the state with his 10 tackles but also showed his versatility as Eagles leading receiver with 5 catches for 90 yards. Mountain View showed that its futures is bright as the Mavericks sophomore quarterback Henry Nelson Henry Nelson 6'3" | 180 lbs | QB Mountain View | 2026 State ID who went 22-33 for 220 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Having to replace a superstar player like Justin McGee Justin McGee 6'1" | 175 lbs | ATH Mountain View | 2024 State ID is hard enough but the Mavericks had multiple young players step up with Tyler Weaver Tyler Weaver 6'4" | 190 lbs | WR Mountain View | 2026 State ID having six catches for 86 yards and a touchdown. Valentin Gomez-Ricks Valentin Gomez-Ricks 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB Mountain View | 2026 ID had 20 carries and 77 yards rushing. On defense the Mavericks were led by senior linebacker Tanner Moriarty Tanner Moriarty 6'0" | 205 lbs | LB Mountain View | 2024 State ID who ended the game with 10 tackles.
Meridian 28 – Rocky Mountain 24
Meridian showed up in a big way on Thursday to win the 5A SIC Foothill Division and prove that even with a 0-2 start to the season the Warriors are still a team to be weary of. They have a star in quarterback Zeke Martinez Zeke Martinez 5'11" | 195 lbs | QB Meridian | 2025 State ID who did a little bit of everything to get the win for the Warriors going 10-17 for 115 yards and a score, he also rushed for a touchdown and caught a touchdown pass. Rocky was led by sophomore Collin Chapman Collin Chapman 6'3" | 175 lbs | QB Rocky Mountain | 2026 ID , going 10-12 for 143 yards and a touchdown after rotating five quarterbacks and using star players Taeshaun Reese Taeshaun Reese 5'10" | 200 lbs | RB Rocky Mountain | 2025 State ID and Jeff Thompson Jeff Thompson 5'8" | 160 lbs | WR Rocky Mountain | 2025 State ID ‘s playmaking ability. Meridian and Rocky have a history the last few years that has finished in an epic way this years edition was nothing short of spectacular with Martinez scrambling and making a 16 yard throw for a touchdown to win it at the end.
