This week on Prep Redzone Oklahoma, we’re continuing our ranking update with a spotlight on some of the top 2025 prospects in the state. On Monday, we released our updated 2025 rankings. Throughout this week, we’ll be breaking down different position groups and overall standouts in the state’s 2025 class. In this post, we’re putting the spotlight on the wide receiver and tight end position. This has without a doubt become the deepest and most talented position in this class. Five pass catchers were covered earlier this week in our Top Ten Spotlight, featuring the ten best overall prospects in the class. Keep it locked in throughout the week for more breakdowns on 2025 prospects. And check back next Monday for our final prospect ranking update when we look at the 2024 class!
We kick off the breakdown with Moore’s CJ Simon CJ Simon 6’0″ | 160 lbs | WR Moore | 2025 State OK and this is a perfect example of just how deep and talented this 2025 class is and specifically at the wide receiver position. In any other year, Simon would be a top ten overall prospect and arguably the best at his position. The 2025 class isn’t any ordinary class. So Simon is right outside the top ten right now but don’t get us wrong, he is a top ten-quality prospect. And this season, he’s showing just that as the leading wide receiver on a Moore team that has been incredibly competitive every week. One thing we like about Simon this season is his ability to take his game to new heights in the last month as the Lions push for a playoff spot. He had three straight games of at least 100 yards receiving and that includes in a tough loss to Jenks.

More people need to know about Star Spencer standout Lehmantre Olds Lehmantre Olds 6’3″ | 190 lbs | WR Star Spencer | 2025 State OK at the wide receiver position and he has the potential to be an absolute star that blows up as a football prospect. At this time last season, Olds missed the majority of his sophomore season with an injury. We put the spotlight on Olds back in August as a football player that was returning from an injury and was primed for a big comeback season. It’s hard to argue that’s happened for the Star Spencer standout. And that process started in the offseason when Olds was one of the best prospects we saw in person during our team camp tour. He carried that momentum into the college camp circuit and showed out during the summer. Olds has all the makings of a wide receiver prospect ready to blow up as a recruit.

Out of the five prospects on this breakdown, Pocola’s Dakotah Terrell Dakotah Terrell 6’8″ | 205 lbs | WR Pocola | 2025 State OK might be the biggest wildcard because we have no idea what he’s going to play at the next level. Terrell is also an outstanding basketball prospect and is starting to get attention for his play on the court, including offers that will not be slowing down anytime soon. But that doesn’t change the fact that Terrell is a very intriguing football prospect. And at the Class A level, you simply don’t see many football players like Terrell come around in a lifetime. He’s 6’8 and can absolutely fly when he gets the football. And he isn’t just a redzone target that is racking up all his catches near the goal line. He had a game earlier this season where he finished with two catches for 174 yards and both ended with him in the end zone. He’s incredibly unique.
We first heard about Edmond Memorial’s Billy McDown Billy McDown 6’1″ | 170 lbs | WR Edmond Memorial | 2025 State OK last season when he was a sophomore at Carl Albert. This season, he’s part of a three-headed monster at wide receiver that has benefitted from having one of the best quarterbacks in the 2025 class getting them the ball. McDown is the third leading receiver on this team and he still has nearly 500 yards. He got off to a great start to the year in the first few games this season. What’s going to be interesting to follow with McDown is his progression in the next twelve months. Because the top two wide receivers in this offense will graduate. McDown will be hands down the top returning playmaker at wide receiver. With a strong offseason and then an explosion in production next fall, it will be fun to see where he ends up compared to the rest of the class.

Plainview wide receiver Shepherd Sisemore Shepherd Sisemore 6’3″ | 185 lbs | WR Plainview | 2025 State OK is a prospect we’ve liked for a little over a year now. And this fall, he’s starting to put all the tools together to be an outstanding wide receiver. The first thing that stands out is speed and then the ball skills to go with it. He’s had corners line up 10 yards off him and he still blows by them. And then because they are scared of the go route, he can stop on a dime at any point and make a catch and then burn them after the catch. But honestly, this could be the last time that Sisemore is ranked and had a spotlight as a wide receiver. Because this kid has been an absolute monster from the safety position. He has some of the hardest hits we’ve seen on film this season and there isn’t just one example. It was incredibly impressive and more doors could open for him on defense.
