Poteau standout and Tulsa commit has been hovering around the top ten in our overall rankings since they began and he’s routinely been one of, if not the top prospect at his position. Collins has been electric in all three phases of the game this season. On offense, he’s a game-changing running back. On defense, he’s a ball hawk in the secondary that also comes up and absolutely hammers opponents. And then Collins is a standout in special teams and has been a threat in the return game. Collins is the first of two prospects on this breakdown to earn a spot on the PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year watchlist and he has helped lead the Pirates to a 9-0 record and they are serious contenders for the 4A state title. Collins was limited last season with nagging injuries but Collins has been an absolute superstar and the Pirates have benefitted from that.

Muskogee is another state championship contender and UNLV commit Kayden McGee Kayden McGee 6’1″ | WR Muskogee | 2024 State OK is a big reason why. McGee has been playing for Muskogee over the last several seasons and has turned into an absolute star. When you compare where McGee and the Roughers were two years ago to where they are now, it’s a night and day difference. McGee has turned into an absolute star for the Roughers and they have gone from 2-8 in 2021 to the top-ranked team in Class 6A-2 this season. McGee is one of the best wide receivers in the state but he has also added the ability to be a ball hawk on defense. This summer, McGee announced his commitment to UNLV and their new staff full of coaches with Oklahoma ties. But McGee’s recruitment has continued to pick up this fall as he has become one of the more versatile athletes in the state’s 2024 class
Class 3A’s top-ranked Heritage Hall is rolling as they look to repeat as state champions this season. Leading the way has been senior standout and Oklahoma commit Andy Bass Andy Bass 6’0″ | 195 lbs | ATH Heritage Hall | 2024 State OK on the offensive side of the ball at quarterback. Bass is committed to the Sooners to play running back after absolutely dominating the camp scene in Norman over the summer. He enjoyed a breakout season for the Chargers last season but he also had one of the best running backs in Class 3A last season. So it was going to be interesting to see how Bass and the Chargers would look when all eyes were on him this season. Bass immediately erased any doubts about Heritage Hall this season in the first game of the season when he torched Millwood back in week one. Whether he’s throwing it or running it, Bass has been one of the best players in the state this season.

Union senior Issac Covington Issac Covington 5’11” | 190 lbs | ATH Union | 2024 State OK is an absolute star when he’s on the football field and really has been since he was a freshman at Booker T Washington. Covington came into this season as one of the top returners on a defense where the strength was in the secondary. But in the last two weeks, Covington has had to play both sides of the ball and fill in at running back and he is more than capable of being a next level prospect on offense as well as defense. With Covington at running back, he ran for over 200 yards and four touchdowns last week and had one of the best runs that we’ve seen this season. Whether it’s on offense or defense, Covington has the potential to be an absolute game changer at the next level. And with the playoffs right around the corner, we’re looking forward to seeing what impact he has on the Redhawks in November.
Similar to Collins and Poteau, Millwood has benefitted from having a healthy Micho Lavine Micho Lavine 6’3″ | 210 lbs | ATH Millwood | 2024 State OK this season. The Falcons are another team that will be contending for a state championship when December rolls around. Millwood’s only loss this season came in the season opener and Lavine did not play in that game. They’re unbeaten with him back in the lineup this fall and he provides a two-way punch that is hard to stop. On offense, Lavine is a very physical runner and looks like a defensive star with the football in his hands. Then on defense, Lavine provides versatility because he can line up at a few different spots and cause a lot of problems for opponents. Millwood’s front seven has the potential to lead the Falcons all the way to a state championship and Lavine is the leader of that unit. This summer, Lavine committed to North Texas.
