Continue ReadingSerra Catholic’s Quadir Stribling Quadir Stribling 6’1″ | 160 lbs | QB Serra Catholic | 2025 State PA was on a fast track to placing inside the top ten in what is a relatively talented 2025 QB class. I decided to wait and see a bit. I’ve waited and I’ve seen. Stribling set out to make a mockery of both the preseason rankings, as well as the North Catholic defense. 400+ yards, 6 passing touchdowns in what was a clinic put on by the junior passer. The first rep on tape went for 60+ yards, with Stribling looking off his initial read and finding a wide-open man free downfield. Another score was created hitting a wide-open man 30+ yards downfield. Again, Stribling showing off his ability to scan the field off of his first read. Stribling took advantage of a lost secondary, yet his throw at the 1:05 mark on tape flashes next-level ability. Unclean pocket, no room to step into his throw, has to flick the throw off in order to get it off in time, delivers a strike 40 yards downfield to a man in stride, one who wasn’t blatantly wide open. Hell of a start for Stribling.
Casual five-sack night for the young man I identified late in the process this preseason. Jaidyn Johnson Jaidyn Johnson 6’5″ | 215 lbs | DL Greater Nanticoke Area | 2024 State PA , 6’5, 220-pound Nanticoke EDGE rusher, was an absolute force on the field. A PBU and blocked punt registered, some tackles registered while on kickoff team. I spoke about how I wanted to see more production this senior campaign, we can easily say that Johnson is off to the right start. This should serve as a confidence builder moving forward, whether or not the competition was up to par or not. Johnson’s presence was felt, I feel much more comfortable mentioning his name to colleges moving forward.
This one feels good. I’ve heard the name Vann Kavals Vann Kavals 6’5″ | 240 lbs | QB Our Lady Of The Sacred Heart | 2025 State PA for what seems like years now. Kavals has sat on our Watchlist, waiting in the backdrop for his opportunity to shine as the lead man in the OLSH huddle. That moment came and this young man made the opportunity count. 6’5, 230, 380 yards through the air, more on the ground, a whopping five touchdowns to his name. First score came after Kavals was asked to roll out, move his launch point and hit a corner route downfield. No coverage, yet Kavals was able to show some touch and deliver an easy ball for a score. Kavals was able to power in a QB keeper at the goal line for a score, that’ll be in the playbook each week considering this kid’s size. Kavals proceeded to hit slants for more scores, showing off his quick release, a release that doesn’t have the ball sitting too low when stretching. All of this and I have yet to mention his four sacks on defense. Was often left unblocked off the snap, left open for a would-be puller to clean up. Kavals was too quick and too strong for any of the opponents IOL to pick up, especially when he was working free off the ball. Kavals will debut high on our ranks next update.

Madden Patrick Madden Patrick 6’0″ | 175 lbs | QB Danville | 2025 State PA flirted with top-five QB consideration two updates ago. This previous update saw Patrick fall out of the top ten, his current ranking being his floor. Patrick tore through the Bloomsburg defense with ease. Just four incompletions on 16 attempts. 230+ yards through the air, four scores. 34 rushing yards to his name as well, another score on the ground bringing the Week Zero total to five. Supreme accuracy, good decisiveness. Love the footwork displayed on tape, Patrick seen resetting his feet when scanning and moving from read to read, all fluently. Great improvisational skills when the pocket collapsed, little bit of flare to his game too, hitting kids downfield while on the go or in awkward throwing positions. Some of the best command I’ve seen through any of Patrick’s game tapes. Stock’s back up.

Wanted to wait and see on the freshman passer out of Western Beaver. The kid impressed me throughout the offseason, so seeing him perform well this past weekend wasn’t too much of a surprise to me. Still, a freshman passer working this well deserves a mention. First rep on tape has Peel working deep inside his own endzone, in gun, hitting a slant route accurately and on time that would lead to a 98-yard score. Peel hit a nine route later in his tape, a deep ball thrown accurately, in-stride, and with anticipation of his man beating coverage. Like him working under center a bit too, that’ll put more emphasis on timing, as well as getting depth in his dropback. Peel looks ahead of the curve early on. Excited to plug in the tape each week.

A stock-riser this high up the rankings is unusual. That’s how well junior back Evan Johnson Evan Johnson 6’1″ | 185 lbs | LB Pine-Richland | 2024 State PA performed this past weekend. 300+ total yards with two scores, all done behind an offensive line unit that dominated up front. Evan Johnson Evan Johnson 6’1″ | 185 lbs | LB Pine-Richland | 2024 State PA ‘s 40-second game tape quickly shows off a similarly efficient running style, one that wastes little time getting upfield and churning up yards. I don’t see 300 yards of offense on this tape, however, or any scores, which is odd considering what was reported.
Tied a Spring-Ford record with three receiving scores on the night. Worked both inside and outside slot positions, also worked and scored while aligned outside the numbers. Certainly played like a top-250 prospect to say the least. Worked the middle of the field really well, through seam routes, posts, Mason Scott Mason Scott 6’1″ | 165 lbs | WR Spring-Ford | 2024 State PA had an eye for open areas behind the backers. What makes Scott’s performance a bit more impressive is what he did after the catch, out-accelerating past good angles taken by DBs. You can see him work in space later in tape, maneuvering laterally past DBs after a bubble screen for Scott was called. Phenomenal performance, excited to see him this weekend.
Ranked as a linebacker, yet tore up turf for 170 yards and three scores in what would turn out to be a 1-score win against Gettysburg. I’m still anticipating tape out of the young man, so I can dissect how he managed to run through what is a solid Gettysburg defense. I’d add that Cabrera is equally a gifted linebacker, a position I think he’ll excel at in the future. I’d imagine the kid recorded some tackles as a two-way star at Hershey. Excited to see how it all played out.
