Being that the 2026 class has much more football to be played and time to grow both physically and fundamentally, these rankings are sure to change quite a lot through the years as more names emerge and more film is available. Here are the Top 10 offensive players that have impressed early in their short time at the high school level.
Da’Ron Parks

Ranking Hurricane offensive lineman Da’Ron Parks Da’Ron Parks 6'5" | 270 lbs | OL Hurricane | 2026 State WV #1 overall for the class of 2026 was one of the easiest rankings decisions we’ll ever make. The 6’5 270 rising sophomore has already earned 16 D1 offers including some of the biggest blue bloods in the sport with the likes of Alabama. Florida, Penn State, and Florida State. Parks is sure to be rated as one of the top offensive linemen in the entire country and not just WV by the time he’s a senior. He will likely be the highest-rated WV prospect since Spring Valley’s Wyatt Milum from the 2021 class and may even surpass his recruiting prowess when it’s all said and done. WV has had a great run of offensive linemen the past decade and that will continue with Hurricane’s Da’Ron Parks Da’Ron Parks 6'5" | 270 lbs | OL Hurricane | 2026 State WV .

Overall Ranking: #3 | Position Ranking: #1
Kylan Grace Kylan Grace 5'10" | 200 lbs | RB Hurricane | 2026 State WV saw his fair share of carries for Cabell Midland last season but will be transferring to Hurricane this year. The Knights had some serious running back talent in 2022 and for Grace to see considerable playing time as a freshman was very impressive. He already has really good size for a running back at 5’10 190 and he more than held his own last season against some really tough competition. Grace is a hard runner and already has some real speed to break off long runs. He has D1 potential if he continues on his high trajectory and keeps developing his game for the next three years. Grace enters the 2026 rankings as the #3 overall player and the #1 rated running back.
Johvon Davis

6'4" | 295 lbs | OL
George Washington | 2026

WV
– George Washington | OL | 6’4 295
Overall Ranking: #5 | Position Ranking: #2
George Washington’s Johvon Davis Johvon Davis 6'4" | 295 lbs | OL George Washington | 2026 State WV saw some varsity time as a freshman last season along the defensive line but I like his ceiling the most as an OT. From watching his film and Twitter clips, Davis has really good feet and athleticism for a young lineman and already has the size for the position at 6’4 295. Davis is physically impressive for being just a rising sophomore and still has a lot of room to grow. The upside is really high for this 2026 lineman and should stick as one of the top linemen in his class for the next three years. Davis enters the 2026 rankings as the #5 overall player and #2 ranked OL.
Here are some clips of Davis at one of WVU’s camps:
Mason Ramsey

Cabell Midland | 2026

WV
– Cabell Midland | OL | 6’4 240
Overall Ranking: #6 | Position Ranking: #3
Cabell Midland offensive lineman Mason Ramsey Mason Ramsey 6'3" | 285 lbs | OL Cabell Midland | 2026 State WV is still growing into his body but the young lineman is already showing flashes of being another top lineman in the state for the 2026 class. Ramsey saw plenty of varsity time as a freshman for the Knights and performed well in their heavy-run offense. You have to be a tough physical lineman to play in their scheme and Ramsey is just that. He’s already very strong for a young lineman and once he fills out his frame and continues to get bigger he should finish as one of the top 2026 lineman in the state by his senior year. Ramsey is already benching well over 300 pounds and his upside warranted the #6 overall spot in the rankings and the #3 rated offensive lineman.
Check out Ramsey’s strength below:
Tyrez Jones

Woodrow Wilson | 2026
WV
– Woodrow Wilson | OL | 6’4 355
Overall Ranking: #7 | Position Ranking: #4
There’s not much info out there right now for Woodrow Wilson offensive lineman Tyrez Jones Tyrez Jones 6'4" | 320 lbs | DL Woodrow Wilson | 2026 WV but from the little we’ve seen we believe he’s going to be a serious player in the coming years. Jones is already a massive 6’4 355 and just finished up his freshman year at Woodrow Wilson. He appears to have a very bright future and is likely one of the strongest athletes in WV for his class. It’s going to be very exciting to follow his career and we can’t wait to see more of his film through the coming years.
Oh yeah, he’s also very strong too.
Xavier Patterson
Xavier
Patterson
6'1" | 240 lbs | TE
Nitro | 2026
State
WV
– St. Albans | TE | 6’1 240
Overall Ranking: #8 | Position Ranking: #1
I got to see St. Albans TE Xavier Patterson Xavier Patterson 6'1" | 240 lbs | TE Nitro | 2026 State WV at the GCOH Performance Exposure Camp back in early June and he was one of my camp standouts. He’s already an impressive 6’1 240 that may end up being a DL prospect by the time he’s a senior but will enter the rankings first as a TE. Patterson showed good athleticism for a kid his size and age and was a nightmare to cover in 1-on-1s at camp. For a kid his size to be moving as well as he was moving was eye-opening and not something you typically see at that age. Patterson flashed some dependable hands on film and is always going full speed and attacking on both sides of the ball. He enters the rankings as the #8 overall player and #1 ranked tight end.
Malachi Thompson

Thompson
6'4" | 190 lbs | WR
Nitro | 2026
State
WV
– Nitro | WR | 6’3 180
Overall Ranking: #10 | Position Ranking: #1
Our initial #1 ranked wide receiver in the 2026 class is Nitro’s Malachi Thompson Malachi Thompson 6'4" | 190 lbs | WR Nitro | 2026 State WV . The 6’3 180 receiver is making the move from Sissonville HS to Nitro HS this year and should be their #1 option this season. Thompson is already a lengthy receiver and proved to be a tough cover for a freshman with that size and his athleticism. He can stretch the field well with his 4.7 speed and also showed some very reliable hands as a freshman. I love the way he catches the ball with his hands and not his body and already uses his length well for a young receiver. You can even get him involved in the screen game and let him make plays with his legs. Although only a 2026 prospect, Thompson has already picked up his first D2 offer form WV State University. Thompson rounds out our Top 10 as the #10 overall player in the 2026 class.
Tyion Jacobs

6'2" | 180 lbs | LB
Cocoa | 2026
FL
– Martinsburg | WR | 6’2 180
Overall Ranking: #11 | Position Ranking: #2
There’s going to be some fellow 2026 wide receivers pining for Malachi Thompson Malachi Thompson 6'4" | 190 lbs | WR Nitro | 2026 State WV ‘s #1 spot and one of his biggest threats is Martinsburg WR Tyion Jacobs Tyion Jacobs 6'2" | 180 lbs | LB Cocoa | 2026 FL . The 6’2 180 rising sophomore played on the Bulldogs’ freshmen team last season but should see varsity time in 2022 in a very talented receiver group. You can already tell he’s going to be the next great Bulldog WR and flashed some serious speed and playmaking ability as a freshman. Jacobs probably would’ve started on at least 100 out of the 113 football-playing schools in WV last season and that tells you how much talent perennial power Martinsburg has every year. He’ll debut as the #11 overall player in the 2026 class and the #2 WR.
Landon Taylor

Hurricane | 2026
State
WV
– Hurricane | WR | 6’0 190
Overall Ranking: #12 | Position Ranking: #3
Another young wide receiver that will be in the discussion for the top 2026 WR is Hurricane’s Landon Taylor Landon Taylor 6'0" | 210 lbs | RB Hurricane | 2026 State WV . Taylor played on the Hurricane freshmen team last season but will likely see varsity time in 2023. He’s already filling out his frame well and is up 30 pounds since his freshman season at 6’0 190. Taylor flashed some impressive hands last year and has the ability to make some contested and tough catches. He also showed he can turn it on and run away from defenders if he gets out in space. Taylor is another young athlete that spends a lot of time in the weight room and is already putting up some impressive numbers for a young skill player. He’ll debut in the 2026 rankings as the #12 overall player and #3 ranked WR.
Check out one of his highlight catches from last year:
Amar’e Johnson
Amar’e
Johnson
5'11" | 175 lbs | RB
Wheeling Park | 2026
State
WV
– Wheeling Park | RB | 5’11 175
Overall Ranking: #13 | Position Ranking: #2
Wheeling Park’s Amar’e Johnson Amar’e Johnson 5'11" | 175 lbs | RB Wheeling Park | 2026 State WV has yet to play a varsity snap at the high school level but the 5’11 170 running back is poised for a huge breakout sophomore year in 2023. Johnson certainly has the family pedigree to make an upper-tier running back. His father Daryl “Boogie” Johnson had a prolific high school career at Wheeling Park before attending Oklahoma State on a football scholarship and Amar’e’s older brother Savion also had a great high school career and had some success at the D2 level. Johnson had a very good freshman season on the basketball court as well and early signs show he’s going to be a very good athlete in any sport he plays. The upside and potential are there to warrant the #13 overall ranking and #2 running back spot for 2026.
