This article includes a few guys who will likely start on varsity next year with sky-high potential and a few who were still extremely productive at lower levels, though have a great foundation to build off of. So, here’s a film analysis of five C/O 2026 athletes!
QB | Jake Morrow Jake Morrow 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB Grand Blanc | 2026 State MI | Grand Blanc | Hudl
A teammate of Jake’s dropped Jake’s film under my pinned tweet. Lucky for me, I didn’t have to pull up his film to get an opinion on Jake. Last weekend, I was lucky enough to evaluate Jake at Hope’s 7v7 event. Jake was absolutely the most impressive QB I saw at the event. There were plenty of other QBs who I know pretty well, and all of them performed in the realm of expectation. For Jake, all I knew was he’s an up-and-coming 2026 prospect, and he ended up blowing me away. Jake did a great job at sustaining drives that ended in touchdowns, and the sheer amount of weapons he has to work with is great as well. Specifically, Jake demonstrated a good understanding of the offense and was very accurate on the day. He made a lot of throws that made sense to the game situation and the strengths of his weapons. He didn’t force throws and didn’t have to force throws because of the consistent good decisions he was making. If Jake is the starter this fall, he could impress a ton of people.
ATH | Camari Patterson Camari Patterson 5'10" | 170 lbs | ATH Orchard Lake St. Mary's | 2026 State MI | OLSM | Hudl
Last season, Camari made a ton of super positive plays at the JV level. He also spent some time on Varsity. Offensively he’s got a lot of potential as a general weapon. His highlights are at RB, and he demonstrates solid explosiveness and vision between the tackles. Although he’s not the biggest guy out there, he isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder and gain a few extra yards when the time is right. Defensively, he’s very active to the run and, again, is not afraid to hit. I feel that the foundation Camari has is great, and if he continues to improve on that foundation with consistent year-round improvement via another sport, training, lifting, etc, he could develop into a Division 1 prospect.
QB | Anthony Bitonti Anthony Bitonti 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB De La Salle | 2026 State MI | De La Salle | Hudl
Anthony is a super interesting prospect for a ton of reasons. Mainly, he’s an extremely promising QB prospect at an elite school with a stacked QB room. Putting school and competition aside, I like what I see in his film. One of his biggest assets is his legs, as he’s able to execute rollouts, designed QB runs, and throw on the run. In terms of throwing the football, there’s moments of good accuracy deep down the field. Generally, his tape shows a lot of room for improvement with things like throwing motion. I assume he’s improved quite a bit over the past 9 or so months since his film was published. I’m looking forward to seeing what Anthony is able to do this season since I think his ceiling is quite high. For now, he’ll remain on the Watch List.
RB | Garlands Randolph Garlands Randolph 5'5" | 160 lbs | RB H.H. Dow | 2026 State MI | H.H. Dow | Hudl
At the freshman/JV level, Garlands has quite a few great highlights showcasing his athletic potential. I especially like his acceleration, as he’s able to go from 0- top speed quite fast. In fact, there are a few plays where he makes something out of nothing thanks to good burst and vision. Right now, he’s a guy to watch out for, though he could surely work his way up to the rankings in the future.
ATH | Drew Esper Drew Esper 6'1" | 190 lbs | ATH Traverse City West | 2026 State MI | Traverse City West | Hudl
Drew is coming off a phenomenal freshman season at the JV level. As a QB/DB/LB, he posted 20 touchdowns, 8 interceptions, 92 tackles, and 1124 rushing yards. Those are excellent stats at any level, and his current athletic foundation should bode well for him moving to Varsity. Some people just have that playmaker gene, and Drew seems to have that. Defensively, he’s a very reactive DB who’s quick to cut in front of routes while the ball is in the air and makes a great play on the ball. He’s also a menace in the run game, as he tackles confidently and with force. Offensively it should be so surprise that Drew runs extremely hard and looks quite fast with a long stride. Needless to say, a ton of potential for Drew as he seems like a natural playmaker.
