Continue ReadingHard to imagine this many defensive linemen ranked ahead of Jeannette’s Lonnie Green. We are splitting hairs when it comes to who ranks above who at his point on our list. College coaches recruiting out West should have Lonnie Green on radar nonetheless. 6’4, 230, a seemingly ever-improving build that will help him be a factor on both sides of the ball. If I’m being hyper-critical, Green is going to have to cash in on his potential this Fall. Dominant and substantial tape is what’s lacking, yet the kid has every opportunity to put forth what coaches want to see. Greene has top 20 potential, yet two-way impact at EDGE/TE will truly bolster his stock out West. I’ve got a feeling he’s going to provide Jeannette with an improved version of himself this Fall.
If you’re working under the Roman Catholic coaching umbrella, I already assume a kid has potential to be unlocked. We are likely to see said potential on display this Fall, with Jaasai Simmons Jaasai Simmons 6’2″ | 215 lbs | DL Roman Catholic | 2025 State PA likely seeing an extended role this coming season. Uncertain on role, EDGE or LB, as many Roman Catholic defenders provide alignment versatility. 6’2, 220, Simmons ranks alongside other EDGE prospects who have the look on paper, yet lack tape and production to back up a higher ranking. I’m interested in seeing how further along he’s come as a pass rusher, in terms of hand/leverage usage. Great build to develop under.
A new name to the list, one who caught my eye as his Hudl shows he plays QB. Naturally, a 6’6, 180-pound quarterback prospect deserves a look or two. The Tri-Valley prospect has EDGE tape to his name, however. If there was another position that valued the size Schwartz possesses, it’s at EDGE. Just a minute and a half’s worth of tape, yet some quality reps that show off the obvious wingspan and arm length. Tough for stout lineman to get their hands into this kid’s chest, as he boasts a slim and quick build. Has a ways to go in terms of PR repertoire, as he wins the majority of his reps after initial engagement. Good effort, good in run support. To keep this ranking, he’ll have to produce twice as much as he did as a sophomore. With his skill set, it could happen.
Raheem Orr Raheem Orr 6’1″ | 220 lbs | DL Episcopal Academy | 2025 State PA is one of my favorite prospects to evaluate. Now at Episcopal Academy, I’m intrigued to see how his role might change as opposed to what he did at Great Valley HS. 6’1, 220, suitable frame at this level off the edge yet he doesn’t project to rush the passer at the next level. That’s okay, considering how special he is sniffing out run plays before they get to develop. Orr might not stand at 6’4-6’5, yet the junior still lands on the athletic end of the EDGE/OLB spectrum. Outstanding closing speed, great lateral strafes that get him in correct position to plug gaps. Great finisher too. Orr possesses one of the best off-the-snap get-offs in his class. Should be on FCS team’s radars.

A new addition to the rankings. His Hudl bio speaks the truth. Multi-sport athlete, one who excels in Lacrosse specifically, Conestoga Valley’s Justin Corson Justin Corson 6’3″ | 220 lbs | DL Conestoga Valley | 2025 State PA ranks above some notable names. Speed around the edge, this kid is going to look to win with incredible balance and timing off the snap. 6’3, 210, a build suitable to bend around tackles and force them deep into the QB pocket. Fluid feet and greasy hips allow him to set up tackles outside early in reps while channeling his weight inside, catching bigger, slower tackles off guard. Revving motor, works with the same energy against the run or rushing the passer. Phenomenal closing speed too, jumps off the tape.

District Sack leader out of Central Columbia, Kole Hummer Kole Hummer 6’1″ | 230 lbs | DL Central Columbia | 2025 PA worked inside the interior of CC’s defensive line, making said feat all the more impressive. 6’0-6’1, 240-pounds, Hummer’s tape conveys a prospect who can shade either tackle, or line up in B-gaps. Hummer sheds down blocks well, absorbing blows and shedding after initial contact. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Hummer excel at any IDL alignment, especially at this level. Hummer’s tape also shows quality reps at left tackle. I prefer his game at IDL, even if he wasn’t sacking QBs. His sack numbers are just icing on the cake.
The most dominant tape of this group. Some may knock the competition level played at Berlin Brothersvalley HS, yet I won’t hold that against the kid. Just 6’1, less than 210 pounds too. Yet his tape suggests a much bigger and more powerful prospect. Good edge setter against the run. Couple his ability to shed blocks on the go, you’ve got a tough prospect to run around. Cooper Huston Cooper Huston 6’1″ | 205 lbs | DL Berlin Brothers Valler | 2025 State PA brings an offensive lineman-type aggression. You can get a feel for what I mean if you watch the violent way he finishes tackles. Orr and Corson bring the heat, so does Huston. Primarily plays with his hand off the dirt, great discipline coming down the LOS when left unblocked.
