Future Freaks Prospect Camp, Who Made Lasting Impressions? Part 1
In this article:
So much of what I’ve liked out of Dyson Harper Dyson Harper 5’11” | 160 lbs | WR Gateway | 2025 State PA ‘s tape was validated watching him work in person. Long stride, straight-line speed is a calling card so seeing him release accordingly and take DBs vertical had me checking off eval boxes. Previously had him listed at 5’11, 155, checked in at 6’0, 165, an ideal and desirable frame at his age and position. The speed and connection with Brad Birch Brad Birch 6’0″ | 190 lbs | QB Gateway | 2024 State PA was on display, yet I got the chance to see him show off some subtleties when working drags, comebacks, etc. His work at this camp, as well as talking with coaches who are interested, left an impression on me, one that should positively affect his ranking.
I’ll be completely honest in this recap. I’ve heard of Daniel “BoyBoy” Cain for some time. He’s on our database, I’ve heard from those in the know that he’s the real deal. I didn’t know the kid was this good, WR MVP good. Coming out and seeing Cain work up close is a perfect example of why guys in my position need to get boots on the ground. Probably the alpha of the camp, yet he stands at just 5’8. Says a lot about his game. Advanced stemming and release traits. Understands leverage use, when, and how to attack a defender based on his alignment and positioning post-snap. Fantastic athleticism and stride was the best separator at the camp. Daniel Cain Daniel Cain 5’8″ | WR University Prep | 2024 State PA was burning DBs so often that we got numerous looks at his downfield ball-tracking ability. It’s a plus too. I’ll be plugging his name left and right moving forward. Posted a 4.50 40 time.
I’m familiar with all things Makel Darnell Makel Darnell 5’10” | 160 lbs | ATH Albert Gallatin | 2026 State PA . His tape got him ranked on a loaded 2026 list. His work at 7v7 settings keeps hype alive for the Fall. His performances at our PRZPA camp, along with his performance at this Future Freaks camp, have me finally ready to include Darnell’s name with some of the best in his class. His situation aside, Makel Darnell Makel Darnell 5’10” | 160 lbs | ATH Albert Gallatin | 2026 State PA ‘s skillset had some coaches buzzing to know more. Releases with a purpose, fires his feet well, working single or double jab releases, and moving kids early. Darnell sets up to separate really well, yet I’m seeing the kid come down with highly difficult catches through contact downfield. He’s seemingly doing this at every camp he attends. He’s got me in his corner moving forward.

The same exact sentiment expressed with Makel Darnell Makel Darnell 5’10” | 160 lbs | ATH Albert Gallatin | 2026 State PA , I express with Montour’s Caden Halajcio Caden Halajcio 5’10” | 160 lbs | ATH Montour | 2026 State PA . I’ve officially seen enough, through two camp settings and 7v7 events, to say that this kid will see a significant jump on our 2026 rankings. His initial rank was a modest one, yet his performances from January to now have me excited for his future. One of the better DBs at this camp, strapping up and battling with the best WRs at hand. Overtly confident, and overtly physical, he’s just going to need proper tuning over time to become one of the better athletes in his class. He’s on that path and his performance at this camp solidified that notion. All this being said, he’s a better football player when the pads come on. He, much like Darnell, is in line for a big 2026 ranking jump coming before seasonason.
Here’s a kid I’m becoming more fond of each time I look into his game. A Central Valley transfer, Donte Newton Donte Newton 6’1″ | 225 lbs | ATH Central Valley | 2024 State PA is expected to carve out some kind of role at the program, considering how position-versatile the young man is. I imagine WR and S will be where he helps out immediately, yet there is no point in bottling up upside like this. The top 250 seniors generally grade out as D1 caliber prospects, so you see how close Newton is to the grade at his current position. His performance at this camp should bolster his stock a bit if nothing else. I’ll be ready for a potential breakout year now that he’s suiting up for Central Valley, a program known to get the most out of its talent,

Already a huge fan of Selinsgrove back Tucker Teats Tucker Teats 5’10” | 185 lbs | RB Selinsgrove | 2024 State PA . I’m cooking up a later piece highlighting what he can provide college football programs interested in his game. He’s ranked as a top 25 back in his class, yet doesn’t have any opportunities under his belt. I’ll do what I can to change that. Teats did all he could at the Future Freaks camp to change that as well. Teats showed off a trait we all love out of his game, his pass-catching abilities. Downfield or close to the LOS, Teats showed coaches he’s a viable option if involved in the passing game. Teats was moving each time I looked over at the backs, often having LBs chasing well downfield. Dominant showing from a guy who deserves some praise. Posted a 4.6 40 time.
Jerry Davis Jerry Davis 5’10” | 160 lbs | ATH Greensburg Central Catholic | 2026 State PA was looking comfortable and confident all camp long. Was a pleasure to see him show off soft hands at all three levels of the field. As a wideout who will more than likely eat underneath at Serra Catholic, Davis continues to prove he can be trusted to run multiple routes in the route tree. It’s exactly what he should be doing at this stage of his early football career. Davis came away with a smooth one-hand grab in this one that woke everyone up. Davis showed up, worked hard, and impressed, can’t ask for much more. He, like Halajcio and Darnell, have done enough this offseason to warrant a jump on our ranks.
