The underclassmen, and soon to be junior, DL had themselves a strong showing at the Minnesconsin Mega Camp. Because there were so many we had to give them their own article to recap them all. The 8 athletes in this article should be well on the radar of college coaches as they continue their high school careers. Don’t be surprised to see these athletes put up big years in 2023 as they establish themselves.
Ethan came in and put together a very strong showing from start to finish. The 6’2″ 232 lbs DL hit a 9’2″ broad jump, 30.7″ vertical, and hit a 4.92 in the 40. Also impressive, Ethan is about 22 lbs heavier than he was last fall. He is now looking the part of a name to know at DE, and he has the athletic profile to match. It will be very interesting to see the package that he brings to the field this fall. The big man still has the range to pursue out on the edge and all over the backfield. He has the quick lateral agility to put himself in effective positions. I’ll be interested to see if we see more strength and stoutness on the edge with that added size. The ’25 will be a name to know as he becomes an upperclassman over in MN.

Another impressive DE that had a great day is the Maple Grove prospect. Checking in at 6’2″ 213 lbs, Sam ran a 4.80 40, 4.6 in the pro agility, and had a 32.9″ vertical. Even as a sophomore, Hanson was able to make an impact on the 6A State Champion team. Watching his tape, Sam is a prospect with a very strong blend of agility, power, and quickness. His quick twitch out of his stance and laterally make him very difficult to land a block on. Sam also transitions that burst into power when he bull rushes opponents. As he continues to fill out his frame the 2025 will become even more of an impact all along the DL. Make sure this kid is on your radar over the next couple seasons.

It was great to see our current #1 DL in the Class of 2026 in person. Mason measured in just a hair under 6’5″ and 195 lbs. It was clear that the up and coming DE has impressive lower body explosiveness. That was demonstrated by his 9’4″ broad jump and 34.7″ vertical jump. Even as a freshman, Mason was able to earn varsity playing time until he suffered an injury that ended his season after three weeks. Going through his tape and his performance at camp, Mason does a good job of uncoiling his length to create separation once engaged. He has a good base of strength to be able to press bigger OL away from his body. I’m excited for what is to come. The length, burst, and developing strength look the part of a high level prospect. Get ready for a big breakout year from the sophomore.

Jacob is a man in the trenches. The 6’2″ 223 lbs ’25 is a block eater on tape. He takes on single and double teams, yet is still able to hold his ground. Bonjour is developing into a very stout defender against the run. His ability to sink his hips makes him difficult to dig out of the trenches. Jacob also has a very high motor that stands out on tape as he fights off those single and double team blocks to make the tackle at the line of scrimmage. Bonjour has also shown to be more than a stout defender. He has the lateral agility to slide down the line to get to the ball and the range to pursue in space. Jacob is proving to be a name to know.
An athlete who I am excited to get into the rankings is the 6’3″ 222 lbs ’25 out of West De Pere. Easton was able to carve out an impact role on a team that made a run to the State Championship game. Easton is a big frame on the edge. He has shown to be a strong presence on the edge. Easton has the strength to fight across OL or run through block attempts. His athleticism is on the incline looking back at his film from last fall. Easton impressed me with a solid burst off the line during the camp. The size, and strength have been shown, and his athleticism is starting to make more of an impact on his game. A big year is in store.
It was easy to see why Hans holds one of the Top 10 spots in the PRZ MN rankings for the Class of 2026. He already looks the part of a D1 prospect at 6’4″ 228 lbs and his power matches the build. Hans is able to quickly engage, press the OL away from his body with that length, or drive them right into the backfield. Pederson also sets himself apart with the speed that he plays the position. Hans bursts out of his stance, has great body control to be able to move laterally while on his rush path, and has good speed in the open. He holds a verbal offer from Central Michigan already. Big things are ahead for him.

An imposing presence on the Elk River DL is the 2025 Nick Montik Nick Montik 6’5″ | 240 lbs | DL Elk River | 2025 State MN . Montik has built a massive 6’5″ 251 lbs frame. Even at that size, Nick was able to crack 5.00 in the 40 with a time of 4.95. What is even more exciting is that this past year was Nick’s first season of HS football. That should put him very high on th boards of college programs because his natural gifts jump off the tape. He uses his hands very well. He is naturally strong and stout. OL can’t get him off his spot when he looks to hold his ground. Not only does he have solid range for his size, Montik also has that body control to be able to change direction or slide laterally without having to regather himself. Big things are ahead for the new to football prospect.
Graysen Schneider Graysen Schneider 6'2" | 240 lbs | DL Stewartville | 2025 State MN
Graysen Schneider Graysen Schneider 6'2" | 240 lbs | DL Stewartville | 2025 State MN
We end with one more Need to Know athlete in the trenches for the Class of 2025. That is Graysen Schneider Graysen Schneider 6’2″ | 240 lbs | DL Stewartville | 2025 State MN from Stewartville. The 6’2″ 229 lbs put together a great combine. He ran a 4.70 40, 33″ vertical, and a 8’11” broad jump. Graysen looks even more impressive in person than he does on tape. He clearly has put in the work this offseason, and that is saying a lot considering he put up 8 sacks and 9 TFLs as a sophomore. In person, it was impressive to see Graysen pass rush at DE. He demonstrated good bend as he ran the loop. His hands were always active and they mostly landed accurately on the OL. Schneider also has the ability to change his rush path without having it cost him speed. He is an exciting, up and coming DE/edge presence to know.
