Continue ReadingFootball is an ever changing sport, yet when it comes down to it we see teams that can control the trenches have the most consistent and high level of success. Finding talent on the offensive line, and assembling it into one cohesive unit is a sure fire way to success. The PRZ WI Combine brought out plenty of that talent from WI. The group was led by MVP Sam Johnston Sam Johnston 6'4" | 270 lbs | OL Hartford Union | 2026 State WI . You can read more about his dominant day in the MVP article. The rest of today’s article breaks down the best of the bunch from the combine and one on one battles. Enjoy!
One of the best northern WI 2025s had himself a day showing off his skills at the Prep Redzone WI Combine. He measured in just a hair under 6’2″ and 275 lbs. The junior had the longest broad jump at 8’2″, the fastest L Drill at 7.90, and the fastest 40 at 5.25. No question, Will has the size and athleticism needed to play at the next level.
Will looked just as impressive when he got to actually play some OL in 1 on 1s also. The junior is blessed with a strong anchor that stood up DL when they tried to use power. He is a natural at gaining the leverage advantage right from the moment he engages. Will demonstrated active, accurate hand placement, and the athleticism in his lower body to slide laterally either direction and change direction stood out rep to rep. It was a strong showing for the junior. He looks like a future college guard. Don’t overlook this kid.

One of the athletes who caught your eye as soon as they walked in the building was Pierce Weber Pierce Weber 6’7″ | 285 lbs | OL Greendale | 2025 State WI . The junior OT checked in at 6’6″ 289 lbs, and carried it well. Pierce continues to make strides in his comfort at the OT position with his technique, mobility, and flexibility.
The one on one battles is where Pierce got to show off the hard work he is putting in. First key takeaway was that he consistently was showing good hand placement. He got them to the center of his man’s chest and were hard to disengage from. What also stood out was his feet. The big man was able to mirror pass rushers through moves and counter moves. There was even a few reps where he needed to use his feet to recover when he overset and was able to do so and win the rep. The arrow continues to point upwards as the big man builds that continuity between his upper body and lower body.

Freshman Nathan Wade Nathan Wade 6’3″ | 245 lbs | OL Racine Case | 2027 State WI was an athlete I was very excited to see. He has been putting in the work this offseason, and it is translating to his play in live action. The 6’1″ 244 lbs OL has made strides in his body control and flexibility. Nathan showed a nice quick set that got him quickly into a powerful position to absorb contact. He was active with his hands, constantly punching and repositioning them to have the inside leverage. Wade looked comfortable with his lateral movements while engaged too. He stayed square and balanced when changing direction in that slide to match the IDL. The freshman has a frame that is growing and his athleticism/power are making the early strides you hope to see. Big things ahead for him.

A new prospect on my radar is Oak Creek lineman Brody Wilcox Brody Wilcox 6’6″ Oak Creek | 2026 WI . The sophomore has an intriguing 6’5″ 235 lbs frame with long arms. If he can continue to pack on the size we could see a massive jump from him over this next year. What we saw Sunday was a raw prospect that has the pieces, he just needs to continue to put them all together. Brody was able to always make initial contact, using that excellent length advantage. He also flashed some nimble feet in some reps. The next step is to consistently have the feet and hands and eyes working as one to the point where everything is reaction over thinking. I’m excited for what is ahead of Brody because the tools are there.
The 6′ 265 lbs sophomore out of Badger put together a good day. It was great to see him get in reps showing pass protection after making a run to a State Title with his and his fellow offensive linemen’s run blocking abilities.
I was able to watch Jackson at center in 1 on 1s. He showed off a quick set that had him ready to engage and in a position of power before the IDL could close on him. He also was able to move well in short areas to stay in front of his opponent. As he develops his anchor strength he will take a leap in the pass protection part of his game. Along with his OL play, it is worth noting that the sophomore is also a talented long snapper to know. Keep an eye on the versatile lineman.
Coming in at 6’1″ 283 lbs is junior OL Ryan Doede Ryan Doede 6’3″ | 285 lbs | OL Iola – Scandinavia | 2025 State WI . Ryan was another athlete I was excited to see work pass protection because a lot of what I have seen from him highlights his overpowering run blocking talents. Talents that will make him an intriguing guard prospect for college programs at the D2 and D3 levels.
In one on ones Ryan showed the traits needed to provide a safe pocket for the QB from the guard position. He showed a strong anchor that was able to negate bull rushes. The footwork in short areas looked clean as he was able to make the slides to stay square on his man. Ryan is well put together and his best football is still ahead of him. Give the junior a look this offseason.
Freshman Alontae Morris Alontae Morris 6’0″ | 255 lbs | OL Racine Case | 2027 State WI is a gifted offensive lineman to keep an eye on over the coming years. He measured in at 5’10” 281 lbs and has years ahead of him to continue to grow and develop his overall frame. What you can’t teach is the tools he demonstrated in 1 on 1s. Alontae showed off a twitchy quick set that got him to a powerful, square position and allowed him to engage with leverage. His initial punch was also quick and accurate. Alontae also proved to have that dancing bear type of footwork. He made it look easy changing direction while engaged at 280+ lbs. Morris has the reactive athleticism needed to win on the interior. I’m excited for his career and development to unfold.

The 5’11” 250 lbs sophomore OL out of Superior, WI made the long trip to the combine in Oak Creek and delivered a good showing. My focus was on him one we got to the one on one portion of the day. The sophomore proved to have strong hands that DL had a hard time knocking down or getting off them. Rich also showed off some nimble feet. He could change direction on a dime in pass protection and was able to easily slide laterally quickly so he was chest to chest on him opponent. Rich is a guard to watch as he grows over the next couple years. Light feet, strong anchor, and solid hands are on their way to being next level.
