Seeing what athletes have to offer, as well as what they could improve on. The submissions have been rolling in, so expect multiple articles to come out of this series. I will do my best to breakdown every athlete that submits. Let’s get it rolling!
Power and balance is the name of the game for the 215 lbs RB. Carson is a load to bring down when he totes the rock. He runs behind his pads very well and runs his feet through contact. Carson also plays with a low center of gravity. If defenders don’t gang tackle or hit him at/below his waist Bilitz is going to have the advantage to break the tackle. Carson also has enough lateral agility to his game to give himself some elusiveness in open field, one on one situations vs a defender. He can shake them with that agility or he can adjust his path so that he isn’t taking direct hits; making it easier to break loose. Carson is a hard-nosed, workhorse back with tone setting power. I am looking forward to a big senior campaign.
Danny is working towards a much larger impact in his senior season at Kaukauna. The 5’11” WR thrives in scenarios where he can get the ball quickly. Either on bubble screens or short routes. Once he has the ball is where Poor stands out. He is blessed with agility and short area quickness. The type of quickness to make his opponents miss in a phone booth. His body control, burst, and change of direction jump off the tape in the screen game. Danny reads and utilizes his blocks effectively, and once he finds his way to the green grass has the speed to pick up a lot of yards after the catch. I expect Kaukauna to have a monster season, and for Danny to be a contributor on offense.

An athlete who has just hit my radar is junior DT Gavin Hanaman Gavin Hanaman 6’2″ | 275 lbs | DL Cedarburg | 2024 State WI . The 6’2″ 275 lbs IDL is an intriguing prospect. He has a solid frame to build on, and despite that frame his best trait is his quickness. Gavin is able to get out of his stance and into the OL quickly. From there Gavin is a difficult block. He has proven he can win with lateral agility that gives him the angle to slip through gaps. Hanaman also has a solid repertoire of moves while hand fighting. He has a spin move, rip, and swim move. All of which have resulted in tackles at the line o scrimmage. This season I want to see him play with a lower pad level more consistently. That will allow him to win the leverage battle, and it should make him more stout at the line. If his strength and leverage get to the point of his quickness then he will have made himself into a legitimate next level prospect.

Another new athlete on my radar is the junior out of Hamilton HS. The 6’1″ DB spent time at safety and cornerback as a junior. At cornerback, I liked his physicality at the line. We saw that he would press receivers, and use his 6’2″ wingspan to his advantage. That length is huge when breaking up passes and it allows a cushion for error and recovery. At safety, Dawson demonstrated solid awareness and play recognition. He quickly processed what was going on in front of him, picked up the right receivers entering his zone, and attacked downhill when he saw the ball cross the line of scrimmage. His role should increase this fall as a senior.
Joseph is an athlete that I have liked more and more the more I watch him. He will be a riser during our next rankings update. While he isn’t the biggest QB prospect at 6′ 185 lbs the arm talent is there. Joseph has a strong arm. There are many examples of him delivering the ball down the field on a frozen rope with very little air under the ball. He can attack tight, closing windows with that velocity. His ability to place the ball where his man has a chance to catch it while protecting the ball from the defense stands out too. Joseph plays with clean footwork, and throws from a good base. The cherry on top is that Cheatham has dual threat abilities. He can hurt a defense with designed or scramble runs. Don’t sleep on the Brookfield East QB.

This articles are so useful for me because it brings me so many new athletes to my radar. Newly to my radar is the Oak Creek OLB Sean Botsch Sean Botsch 6’2″ | 210 lbs | LB Oak Creek | 2024 State WI . Sean has prototypical size at 6’3″ 225 lbs. Excellent length or an edge defender. What instantly jumps off the tape is his ability to set the edge against the run game. Sean is able to win those battles with quickness or strength. He can shoot through gaps or use his lateral agility to make OTs/TEs miss their blocks and then quickly close for the tackle. He can also take on blocks, stack them at the line, and then shed the block for the tackle. The junior also has the range needed at the OLB position. He can drop into coverage and roam a zone or chase down the ball carrier in the backfield. We could be in store for a breakout senior season from the OLB prospect. Don’t miss out on him.
Next up we have the tackling machine out of St. Joseph’s Academy. Campbell is a downhill, hard hitting run stuffer. Kuiper has an innate ability to get to the ball despite all the trash between the tackles. Campbell is developing a well rounded ability of block shedding. He is developing the strength to run through blocks that aren’t squared up on him. Kuiper also has used his side to side agility to make blockers miss. Lastly, Campbell’s instincts jump out on tape too. He quickly diagnoses plays and always gets to the ball. Usually at the line of scrimmage. Check out his tape below.

A junior has really bumped his stock this offseason is the Verona DB. Garrison has impressed me on tape. He plays with next level athleticism and explosiveness. We recently got verification of that explosiveness at the WFCA combine. Garrison posted a 40 yard dash of 4.57, 38.5″ vertical, 9’11.5″ broad jump, 7.12 L-Drill, and a 4.21 5-10-5. On tape, Codde is a menace at the catch point. He picked off one pass, and batted away an outstanding 12 passes. His play recognition/diagnosis makes his explosiveness and range even more dangerous because he plays a step ahead mentally. The CB can also be relied on to make open field tackles. You can trust Garrison out on an island against even the top WRs in WI. Garrison continues his climb up the rankings. Give his highlights a look.
