On Sunday, the Pennsylvania Prep Redzone Next Rising Prospect Camp took part at the Spooky Nook complex in Manheim. While the overall number of prospects in attendance was a little light, the talent on display certainly was not. There were over 10 athletes on the 2027 Prep Redzone Next National Watchlist in attendance. There were also more than a few new names and faces that impressed. The prospects got a ton of reps on both sides of the ball and put in a ton of work.
Here are the overall position MVPs from the camp.
Typically we don’t give out an MVP specifically for the Tight End position, as they are usually grouped in with the wide receiver’s. However, at this camp, there were more than a few really good looking prospects. Glover led the way here, proving to be as dangerous of a vertical threat as there is in the state at the Tight End position. After a tough bot with mono that caused him to lose over 10 pounds in the early spring, the 6-foot-1, 190-pounder looked to be in great shape.

Nelson could have brought home the MVP chain at either running back or linebacker, ultimately ending up with the latter. Maybe it was the bright lime green cleats that kept my attention, but my eye kept catching his reps as I bounced around the field. Strong, solid build and got to full speed really quickly on both sides of the ball through drills. In conversation it was tough to get anything more than an occasional smile out him, but that’s fine. He was all business on the field and it was evident pretty quickly that he’s one of the top 2027 backs coming out of Philadelphia. He’ll be at La Salle College High School in the fall.
After watching him on film for the better part of a calendar year, it was great to see Quick play in person. Kid has a magnetic personality that drew coaches and other athletes to him. While he was keeping it loose on the field and had people laughing, he was dialed in during his reps as a wide receiver. I’m awaiting official measurements and times, but he was certainly taller/bigger than I anticipated. Watching him play, I can easily see how valuable offensive chess piece he is. Dependable hands, great athleticism and versatility is huge. He’ll be at Bishop McDevitt in the fall.
I’ve seen Hardy in camp settings three different times in 2023, with plans for a fourth later this summer. He shows up, competes every time and the gas pedal is always slammed down with him. PRZ Next camps traditionally pull some of the best seventh and eighth-grade backs in each state and Hardy is right there every time. He finally brought home the MVP at PRZ Next Rising Prospect Camp and left it all on the field, as usual. A day after a grueling 7v7 tournament that left him a little tight, he worked through it and looked at full speed. Great looking athlete.

I knew Williams was a talented quarterback, but after watching him spin it at the PRZ Next Rising Prospect Camp he impressed me to a new level. Admittedly I didn’t watch the QBs during individual drills, but watching him rip it during one-on-one’s, I didn’t see a single bad throw. An absolutely beautiful, over-the-top release with a spiral tighter than my pants after Thanksgiving dinner. The fact that he and Jontai Quick Jontai Quick 5’10” | 150 lbs | ATH Bishop McDevitt | 2027 State PA (above) played on the same regular season team (they won the league championship) is a cheat code. The pair will continue to stay connected, as Williams is also headed to Bishop McDevitt in the fall.

For my money’s worth, Hiller was the top overall lineman prospect at the camp–regardless of side of the ball. The future Coatesville High School student-athlete is an eye test-passer right away at 6-foot-4 and 250 pounds with a broad frame. He carries his weight exceptionally well and has a lot of natural functional strength with his size. While he plays defensive end at a high level too, he was that dude as an offensive tackle all camp long. His foot work was great and already plays with that mean streak, that all great offensive linemen have. I came away very impressed with him and he absolutely earned a spot on the 2027 PRZ Next National Watchlist with his performance.
It was my second time seeing Fackel play live in as many weeks and it was a treat again. The northern Virginia native, who will be at St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland for high school ball, made the trip up to Pennsylvania and did his thing. Currently holds a Maryland offer. Had some great battles with Hiller and Cooper Ebeling Cooper Ebeling 6’4″ | 280 lbs | OL Episcopal Academy | 2027 State PA throughout the day. Size, length and strength are big plusses right now. There’s room to improve flexibility, as he can move a little stiff sometime. This would help him be able to bend around the edge during pass-rush drills. That said, he performed just as I expected him to.

While the camp had a ton of standouts, if there was an overall MVP of the Pennsylvania PRZ Next Rising Prospect Camp, it would have been Lockley. From the second he walked into the dome, he just looked physically different than the other kids. Measured in at 6-foot and 195 pounds of solid muscle. Came to the camp to play wide receiver and defensive back, winning the defensive back MVP. With his build, I wouldn’t rule out a change to Linebacker when he gets to St. Joe’s Prep in Philadelphia this upcoming call. Has a thick, powerful lower half that saw him run a 4.72 in the forty. In the best vs. best rep at the end of the camp he went one-on-one with Tight End Michael Glover Michael Glover 6’3″ | 215 lbs | TE Wilson | 2027 State PA who chose to get physical with Lockley. The future P5 player absorbed the blow and then ran stride for stride with him. Get familiar here.
