The Prep Redzone Prospect Tour came through Oklahoma on Sunday afternoon and top talent from the state came out and showed out throughout the three hours in Oklahoma. It started with combine testing and then went into individual drills, followed by 1 on 1 competitions to wrap up the camp. And throughout the week, we’ll be putting a spotlight on some of the top performers at each position from Sunday’s camp. Our content begins with players that stood out on both sides of the ball. We will start off with offensive and defensive lineman and will have a part 2 with more lineman and linebackers in the next article.
Penn is a defensive line out of Colcord who impressed us a lot in and he is out of the 2025 class. Penn is someone that was in the talk about him being an MVP of the camp, but Ace Hodges edged him out. This was my second time seeing Penn at one of the Prep Redzone camps and he just keeps impressing everyone. Penn is a big body interior lineman who can play nose tackle or even bump out to a 3-technique. He has long arms where he can control his offensive lineman to gain that separation that he needs to get past his guy. Penn can work in small spaces and knows how to control his body up against other lineman. We really liked Penn’s ability in the individual drills where he shows he has good hips and technique with his hands. In his one-on-one’s, Penn dominated his opponents for most of the day. Prep Redzone is looking for big things out of Penn in only his Junior season.

McClain is from the 2025 class who stands in at 6’1″ and weighs in around 210 pounds. McClain is from Shawnee and is an edge rusher who utilizes his speed off the edge. McClain had a good camp who showed he has a good first step off the ball. He is quick once the offensive lineman moves and can get in the backfield in a hurry. After a few reps of beating his lineman to the edge he countered it with his speed. He set up using this move by beating his opponent off the edge and then quickly would come underneath the lineman. I would like to see more techniques used with McClain as he continues to work on his craft as an edge rusher.

The next player that we are going to talk about is Colten Christian Colten Christian 6’5″ | 285 lbs | OL Collinsville | 2024 State OK out of Collinsville. This past January, he was our MVP at the camp and was in the mention again this go around. This was my second time putting my eyes on him this offseason and Christian didn’t disappoint. In individual time, Christian was up front leading the group in drills and demonstrating how to perform each drill as a leader. While playing tackle, he has a quick kickback step and sets up fast on his defender. Christian is patient on his defender as he doesn’t attack too quickly to tip his hand in pass pro. I watched several reps on Christian and he was fundamentally sound all day and dominated his opponents.

The next lineman that we will take a look at is out of Claremore and in the class of 2024, Ben Jordan Ben Jordan 6’4″ | 280 lbs | OL Claremore | 2024 State OK . Jordan will be a 2-year starter with the Zebras this year and looks to help anchor the offensive line this upcoming season. Jordan, who typically plays tackle with the Zebras took reps on both sides of the ball at camp playing tackle and interior line. On the defensive line, Jordan is a big body that eats up space and moves well on that side of the ball. Where I like him the most is on the offensive line where he could play tackle or at guard at the next level. Jordan has a good pass pro and likes to punch with heavy hands. Where he gets himself in a little trouble is when he overextends himself and this puts him in a bind with the defender countering. Look for Jordan to have a good Senior season with the Zebras.

Next up is Ryan Wells Ryan Wells 5’11” | 240 lbs | OL Verdigris | 2024 State OK out of Verdigris. Wells is a 2024 lineman that we just did a Friday Film Review where we came away impressed from what we saw. Wells is a physical player who looks to start in his 3rd year for the Cardinals on the offensive line and be the anchor up front. At camp, Wells competed both on offense and defensive line. He plays with a solid base and uses his hands well. At the point of contact, he likes to be physical which didn’t hurt his overall reps being too aggressive in overextending himself. On defense, he is quick off the ball and when he utilizes his hands in the pass rush, he is hard to beat. Wells looks for his senior year to play on both sides of the ball and at this point, has several offers to play at the next level.

Tackitt had been attending Oologah Schools for the past few years until recently where he is now at NOAH. Tackitt has been on the scene with Prep Redzone for a while now and has a long athletic frame. He is someone that shows up to camp and shows his play-making ability during individual drills and one-on-one reps. In his individual drill’s workout, we noticed how quickly he comes off the ball. He does a good job using his hands and his hand placement on the lineman. Tackitt can utilize his speed to get to the edge. During the one-on-one, what I like about him using his speed is he can use his hands to swipe down the lineman’s hands. Tackitt does a good job of utilizing his tools to beat you outside or uses an inside move. We look for Tackitt to have a good Senior year on the defensive side of the ball at NOAH.
The next lineman that we are going to talk about is Gilliam in the 2025 class out of Sulphur. For most of the day, he lined up in the interior line and played center. He did get a few reps on defense where he flashed a good rip technique and was quick to get off the ball. He was a fun prospect to watch all day long. If you want to talk about someone who brought the energy, look no further as Gilliam did just that. Throughout the one-on-one reps, Gilliam kept lining up and brought the same energy every time. In talking with the Trench Mafia coaches, every weekend he does the same thing. What I liked most about his pass pro were Gilliam’s hips that helped which helped him have a solid base. Gilliam was competitive with each rep and showed good hand combat.
