has been one of the best two-way lineman prospects in the state’s 2025 class for a while now. Ever since we first saw Gilliam in person, he was also one of our favorite players to watch. The Sulphur standout is not one of the biggest guys at his position and it’s never really mattered. Gilliam plays with a motor and a mean streak that puts him in a different category from other prospects. The Sulphur senior also has dominated on the wrestling mat. Having Gilliam setting the tone on both sides of the line of scrimmage is going to allow Sulphur to be one of the toughest teams in Class 3A this season.

has been a prospect that we’ve watched since his freshman season. He dominated when he was at our camp back in April. And so far this season, Gilliam has done a really good job while lining up at the left tackle position. One thing that really impresses us about his junior tape is that it’s not just him beating up on lesser competition. He has moments facing off against notable DL and he wins with ease. Now, moving forward, it is going to be interesting to see where Gilliam ends up at the next level. On offense, his size translates more to the interior of the offensive line. But then you throw on his tape and you see him being an absolute bull on the defensive side of the ball. Gilliam is one of the more versatile 2025 prospects when you’re talking about the big men on the line of scrimmage.

The Sulphur Bulldogs kick off their season this week when they host defending champion and 2A’s top-ranked Washington on Friday night. The Bulldogs will certainly have their work cut out for them as they face a Washington team that was dominant in their opener last week against Vian. But Sulphur isn’t lacking talent and they should be able to fight back against a very talented Washington team. One player we’ll keep an eye on is junior offensive and defensive lineman

for the Bulldogs. Gilliam will look to set the tone on the line of scrimmage and it’s on defense where he will probably be the most valuable. The Warriors and their ground game made it look easy at times last week. Gilliam and the Sulphur defense will look to slow down a Washington offense that put up 55 points last week. Gilliam is a tough, physical player that we like on both sides of the line.

is one of our favorite linemen in the state’s 2025 class. We were fans of his game just based on his film from his freshman and sophomore seasons. But then we had him at our camp in the spring and he was one of the top performers on both sides of the ball and brings a nastiness that you want to see from a player in the trenches. Gilliam doesn’t have the prototypical size as some of the other bigger names in the class but it doesn’t matter in our opinion. He’s a player that is going to help his team win games this fall and next season as well. And when it comes to playing at the next level, he’s going to help a college team win a lot of ball games as well.

is one of our favorite prospects in the state’s 2025 class. We’ve watched film of Gilliam since his freshman year at Plainview and it’s really hard to not be impressed with his play on both sides of the line of scrimmage. Gilliam was also one of the top standouts at our prospect camp back in April. Gilliam absolutely brought it on every single rep and he plays with an energy that is rarely matched. At least, it hasn’t been matched so far when we’ve watched him in person. Gilliam is also a potential standout on the defensive side of the ball but for now, we have him listed on the offensive line but he’s a next level talent on either side.

The next lineman that we are going to talk about is Gilliam in the 2025 class out of Sulphur. For most of the day, he lined up in the interior line and played center. He did get a few reps on defense where he flashed a good rip technique and was quick to get off the ball. He was a fun prospect to watch all day long. If you want to talk about someone who brought the energy, look no further as Gilliam did just that. Throughout the one-on-one reps, Gilliam kept lining up and brought the same energy every time. In talking with the Trench Mafia coaches, every weekend he does the same thing. What I liked most about his pass pro were Gilliam’s hips that helped which helped him have a solid base. Gilliam was competitive with each rep and showed good hand combat.
