The turnout for the Prospect Tour was not quite what we expected, but it proved to be a success nonetheless. It was great to see a handful of influential college coaches in attendance as event staff and spectators.
This article will recognize the Most Valuable Players (MVPs) who participated in the tour. They exhibited remarkable skills and truly stood out from the rest to earn the title of GameChangers.
The Cherry Creek quarterback did not disappoint during the entirety of the camp. He is a solid athlete with an impressive frame who showcased his athleticism during the combine portion of the event. He has quick feet and an explosive first step that allows him to quickly get in and out of his drops and take off as a runner when needed. His ability to get the ball out of his hands quickly and on target is a testament to his arm strength and footwork in the pocket. Vodicka is coming off a state championship-winning season in his first year but looks hungrier than ever, which helped him eahe MVP title for his position group.
Highlights
Vicars is a linebacker from Fossil Ridge who set himself apart from the rest of the position group during the drills and competition portion of the day. He has impressive athletic abilities and serious strength. His reflexes are particularly noteworthy, almost as if he can anticipate what is going to come next. He did a fantastic job displaying his lateral movements and ability to track the ball carrier and close the gap using his leverage. Vicars is a prospect worthy of being on the radars of programs at the next level, which is what helped him land the MVP award for the linebackers.
Hill is an exciting player who sits in a limbo situation as a hybrid outside linebacker potentially transitioning to the secondary. His 6-foot-2, 195lbs frame makes it difficult not to watch him whenever he is on the field. His 4.7 seconds 40-yard dash time was impressive, especially for a player of his size entering his junior season in the fall. He did a fantastic job in the competition portion of the event by showcasing his phenomenal ability to cover routes on the first and second levels. His long wingspan and 4.7 speed made him tough to beat on fade routes, adding to his stock value as a coverage player. Hill won the MVP tag for the defensive back group, helping to make him a must-watch player at Pine Creek this fall.
Highlights
Basinger is no stranger to the spotlight, earning the running back MVP title at all three Prep Redzone events held in the state. He is an immediate standout who turns heads instantly. The two-way athlete from Columbine excelled in the defensive back drills just as much as he did with the running backs. His power, speed, and unmatched competitive mentality set him apart as one of the top players in the building. Hearing Basinger’s name get called for the MVP title was no surprise, just like his future as a highly recruited prospect will not shock anyone who has laid eyes on him.
Highlights
Prante is a radar pop-up who stood out during the combine portion of the day. He is a lean defensive lineman with great strength and explosiveness. His powerful running style gives him the needed ability to apply pressure to the backfield and chase down ball carriers. He displayed good overall acceleration when changing directions and was consistently dominant during the competition portion of the day. Prante will take the defensive line MVP title with him to Englewood, where he will undoubtedly continue to make a name as an underrated prospect.

Johnathan Fruge
Johnathan Fruge
Fruge is a lineman from Green Mountain who demonstrated exceptional coachability, which is why his performance at the camp earned him the MVP award for the offensive linemen. He showed the most improvement in multiple areas in his game, including his footwork and blocking technique. Even though he is listed as a defensive lineman, his dedication and hard work on the offensive side were exemplary. There is no doubt that Fruge will continue to excel in this sport on either side of the ball and become a more known prospect.
Griffin Jr is a wide receiver from Far Northeast who was the smallest athlete but made the biggest impression out of the entire position group. He arguably had the best footwork and hip movements out of all of the attendees, which translates perfectly to the field. His shifty route running and ability to stick his foot in the ground and get upfield immediately after the catch showed his reliability as a go-to target for a quarterback. His athleticism made him stand out on both sides of the ball by drawing attention from onlookers when lined up as a scrappy corner. Griffin Jr fits the mold of a player that urges coaches to recruit talent over size, making him a must-know name for programs at the next level.
