Continue ReadingStrong competition embarked on Loganville, Georgia last weekend for the BEA Beast of the East 7v7 tourney and while the event was strongly represented by Peach State programs, the state of Tennessee came down and performed very well with the Mid-TN Wolfpack making it to the Semi-Finals before falling to eventual champ Gas 7v7.
Below is a list of top performers from last weekend’s action and some guys to pay attention moving forward as we inch closer into summer camp season.
This dude continues to get better each and every week we step out onto the field and this past weekend in Atlanta was some of his best 7v7 work yet. Curll played both ways for the Mid-TN Wolfpack, bringing in several clutch catches, including a huge touchdown reception to win the team’s quarterfinal playoff game. He also had several shining moments on defense as well, playing in coverage most of the time and handling himself very well. He produced an interception on Day One while also breaking up several other passes throughout the weekend. His play was critical in the team’s success down in Atlanta at the Beast for the East 7v7 tournament.
Highlights
‘25 (Ath) Kani’ Johnson Kani’ Johnson 5'11" | 185 lbs | ATH Centennial | 2025 State TN – Centennial
– Down in Atlanta this past weekend, Johnson had his best performance yet throughout the 7v7 season as he produced multiple big catches on offense while playing lockdown coverage on defense at cornerback. The Cougars junior two-way talent is a natural athlete that can make big plays whenever he steps on the field, it’s just a matter of being consistent and focused. Well down at the Beast of the East, Johnson put it all together, becoming one of the best two-way players at the tournament while taking another step in his progression as a future college football player. Continue to follow this junior over the coming months as he could see his recruitment take off with more positive buzz like this.
Turner has been one of the more consistent performers for the Mid-TN Wolfpack throughout the entire 7v7 season and this past weekend in Atlanta might have been one of the best performances yet. This Mid-Tennessee product brought in multiple huge TD receptions during the two day tournament, providing his quarterback a nice safety valve out of the backfield and working the slot, using his size and athleticism to his advantage. Turner is a physical young man that brings variety and versatility to the football field and someone that could be in the mix for Mr. Football this Fall.
Highlights
(Ath) Zeke Garrison – Walker Valley
– Garrison stepped up big this weekend, giving his Chatt-Wolfpack team a dependable pass catcher on offense and a high end competitor over on defense. The Mustangs senior talent is an interesting prospect to follow over the summer camp months and the Fall football season as Garrison is built like a future linebacker but has enough athleticism and skill to play slot receiver or that hybrid LB/safety role you see in the college game. He grasps the game well as he shows a high football IQ and the willingness to do anything it takes to help his team win and this weekend in Atlanta, Garrison showed those abilities and then some.
(WR/DB) Elmo Stewart – Greenwood (Ky)
– Tall and long with a great frame and natural athletic abilities, Stewart flexed those talents down in the ATL last weekend where did a great job at getting open on a consistent basis while also showing upside on defense, locking down receivers at cornerback. This Bowling Green area two-way talent has some of the best upside of anybody on the Mid-TN Wolfpack roster as Stewart has the physical traits and skill set to develop and excel at multiple positions on the next level. He needs to continue working but this guy is a definite sleeper to pay attention to going forward.
‘26 (Ath) Kari Dixon – Blackman
– People better keep an eye out for this youngster as Dixon keeps turning in strong performance after strong performance as down in Atlanta, this Mid-Tennessee product was outstanding on both sides of the ball and one of the most dynamic players representing the Volunteer State. Dixon stood the most on offense where he handled the slot very well, showing off excellent route running and outstanding hands. His focus and strong hands were on full display in Atlanta as one of the more dependable pass catchers on offense for the entire weekend. He was also clutch during some big games playing cornerback, going up against some older, talented wideouts where he handled himself just fine.
‘25 (DB) Ronald Davis-Suttles – Hixson
– Each time the Chatt-Wolfpack team steps out on the field, Davis-Suttles is one guy you don’t have to worry about competing hard and that effort showed up again this past weekend down in Atlanta. Working both ways for his team, Davis-Suttles has the build and skill set of a future college DB who could play a variety of roles inside the secondary with his best upside possibly being at safety. Even though his Wolfpack team finished the weekend at 1-3, Davis-Suttles was a definite standout based on his highly competitive nature and ability to place himself around the ball on a consistent basis. Mork work must be done but this Chattanooga area rising junior has the upside to reach the college game.
