Kani Johnson is a very explosive athlete that plays both wide receiver and cornerback. He excels on a vertical plane with good pace to glide and burst past the defensive backs. Good body control and balance, he makes tough catches down the field and stays on his feet. Good juice after the catch and is instinctive on both sides of the ball.

Electric game changing abilities reside within this Mid-Tennessee talent who is still maturing and growing into his body and the moment he realizes how good he can be, watch out! Johnson is a natural athlete that has big time speed and fluid body movements that can be developed on either side of the ball. Over on offense, Johnson is a big play wideout that can get on top of his defender and beat him deep while on defense, the Cougars rising junior brings a versatile skill set to the secondary where he could develop at cover corner, line up at nickel or slide back to safety. There are a lot of tools residing with Johnson that says he is a future college player with continued development but he must buy in fully and the moment he does is when he sees his recruitment pick up in a major way.
