The DR7 7v7 tournament circuit made its way through Oklahoma over the weekend and stopped in at Broken Arrow and Prep Redzone was there from start to finish. Throughout the week, we’ll be putting a spotlight on some of the best players that we caught for an extended period of time. In this post, we’re taking a look at several standouts from the C4 18U and 15U teams. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone for more spotlights, looking at some of the top players throughout the weekend in Broken Arrow.
Another tournament and another opportunity for Wynnewood 2025 standout Caden Knighten Caden Knighten 6’1″ | 180 lbs | RB Wynnewood | 2025 State OK to prove he’s one of the more electric playmakers in Oklahoma. Fresh off a sophomore season where he was a finalist for our Player Of The Year award, Knighten has been incredibly explosive this offseason. We’ve watched him in camp settings as well as a few 7v7 tournaments and his combination of speed, acceleration and hands make him such a dangerous prospect to watch moving forward. Throughout the weekend, Knighten provided a spark for C4 as a “running back” within the 7v7 offense. He would make a short pass route turn into a long play with his ability to avoid defenders. He also made some spectacular catches in traffic to showcase the reliability of his hands. Knighten is definitely near the top of the list of prospects having an outstanding offseason.
The only prospect on this spotlight from C4’s 15U team is Durant 2026 standout Cole Robbins Cole Robbins 5’11” | 190 lbs | ATH Durant | 2026 State OK . The more we see Robbins, whether it’s film or in person, the more we think he’s going to be an absolute problem for opponents for the next three seasons. For Durant, Robbins is their versatile weapon that is dangerous in all three phases of the game. For C4 during the 7v7 season, Robbins is their quarterback and also a safety. Robbins has an absolute cannon for an arm and he unleashed several passes that were very impressive. Then he would turn around and play the safety position and control the secondary. We are very impressed with Robbins and think he has the chance to be a breakout player within the state’s 2026 class. Durant might have struggled in the win-loss column last season but they return quite a bit of talent and should make some noise in 2023.
Highlights
The first of two shutdown corners on this breakdown is Lawton Eisenhower 2024 standout Jalen Jones Jalen Jones 6’2″ | DB Lawton Eisenhower | 2024 State OK . It was good to get our eyes on Jones for an extended period this weekend for the first time. We’ve seen some of the video from this offseason with Jones putting in work and his recruitment is starting to take off as well. But it’s different getting your eyes on Jones in person and he passed the eye test. It’s not easy for cornerbacks to really stand out and make play after play in a 7v7 setting because quarterbacks learn pretty quickly that they just need to avoid throwing their way. Jones made several plays from a pick six to multiple pass breakups and eventually, quarterbacks learned their lesson and tried to attack the C4 defense in other areas. Jones is definitely a prospect that is on the rise in Oklahoma and we can’t wait to see more of him this spring and summer.
We saw Carl Albert in person four different times last season as they made their run to the state championship. But this was our first chance to see their 2025 standout Trey Washington Trey Washington 6’3″ | WR Carl Albert | 2025 State OK since the Titans raised the gold ball in December. The first thing that stood out was the physical build of Washington. It looks like he’s spent the last three months in the weight room and has gotten much bigger than when we saw him last fall. And that’s a big problem for opponents because he already has the height, ball skills and hands and as he continues to put on muscle, he’s going to be an absolute monster. Washington made plenty of plays on jump ball situations throughout the weekend but we cannot wait to see how he looks when the pads come back on this spring and later on this fall. As Carl Albert goes to more of a balanced offense, Washington has a chance to be very special.
We’ve been telling anyone who would listen that Carl Albert has something special going on right now and the 2025 class has a chance to go down in the record books. In addition to Washington, they also have standout Trystan Haynes Trystan Haynes 6’2″ | 165 lbs | ATH Carl Albert | 2025 State OK , who has emerged as a truly elite prospect within the state’s 2025 class. We’ve written about Haynes before about how he has a similar physical build to teammate Iowa State signee Tashawn James Tashawn James 6’2″ | DB Carl Albert | 2023 State OK . But Haynes also has some quick twitch to him and excelled at one of the other cornerback positions. With Jones on one side and Haynes on the other, opponents had to avoid throwing to the outside because those two had things on lockdown. Haynes has absolutely exploded this offseason in terms of his recruitment and it appears to be just the beginning. Haynes is a freak athlete and that was on full display this weekend.
