Continue ReadingAfter initially committing to Minnesota, Brown had a change of mind. A change that would lead him to the blue grass state and the blue and white of the Kentucky Wildcats. Brown is a young man I’ve had the pleasure of watching since his sophomore year. He finished his senior season with a bang, finishing with over 1,600 yards receiving and 21 touchdowns. Brown has excellent quickness and solid speed to go with it. Early on in his career Brown did most of his damage in the vertical routes and stretching the field. As he’s developed as a receiver, he’s expanded his route tree. Brown does a great job of using hesitation and acceleration to get free releases. Once he’s in the open he’s almost impossible to defend. Brown is also a play maker in the special teams return game as a returner. When he gets the ball in his hands, he’s electric. He darts in and out of defenders weaving his way to the endzone. As Brown adds weight and strength, I think he has a chance to be a really good play making receiver at the college level.
McGohan high school career has been a human highlight reel of one handed and contested catches. McGohan, a hybrid tight end from Miamisburg HS, originally committed to the Cincinnati Bearcats, but after head coach Luke Fickell left for Wisconsin, it opened the door for a change of heart. McGohan, would go onto decommit to Cincinnati and commit to LSU a short time later. At 6’4 210 and long arms, McGohan has the length that D1 P5 coaches long for. He has top end speed for a linebacker running in the low 4.6’s at camp in the summer before his junior season. He tracks the ball well and has as good of ball skills as I’ve seen from a high school tight end. Based on seeing him in person on multiple occasions, I really believe that Jackson is one of the top tight ends in the country. For whatever reason he’s flown mostly under the radar to this point. That time is coming to an end however, as he takes his talents to SEC country and looks to make highlight reel type catches in Tiger Stadium.
Banks both committed too and signed with the Kentucky Wildcats last month. Banks had previously been committed to the Toledo Rockets, but early on in his senior season he decided to open things back up in his recruitment. At 6’4 180 Banks is a bigger receiver. He understands how to set up his routes and get separation. Banks is a tough matchup as he has the size to muscle up smaller db’s, but he has the speed and athleticism to create separation and out run bigger db’s. Banks tracks and high points the deep ball well. As he gets to Kentucky the main thing for Ardell is just going to be adding weight to his slender frame. Once they can do that, I think he has a chance to find the field.
Tanner has been on the D1 radar for quite a while. Last April Lemaster committed to play tight end for the University of Kentucky. Lemaster is a versatile tight end who could be lined up in line or split out. There was a time where I thought Tanner may grow into an offensive tackle, but he’s kind of plateaued when it comes to his weight. He has good hands that he uses to catch the ball away from the body. When he gets the ball, he fights for tough yards and he not afraid to put his shoulder down and run someone over. I think Lemaster’s focus will be to continue to work on his explosiveness and long speed.
Keontez Bradley Keontez Bradley 6’2″ | 180 lbs | DB Mansfield Senior | 2023 State OH was all set to go to Kent State University to play cornerback for the Golden Flashes. Then early last December, KSU head coach Sean Lewis moved on to take the offensive coordinator job for Deion Sanders at the University of Colorado. After Lewis left, Bradley decommitted from Kent State. It wouldn’t be long before Bradley would pick up an offer from Arizona State and would sign with the Red Devils at the end of December. At 6’2 175 Bradley has great length for a cornerback. He has the speed and athleticism to back it up as well. I saw Keontez at the Ohio State football camp last summer and came away very impressed. He did a great job of mirroring receivers and then using his length, great breaks, and ball skills to make plays on the ball time after time. He was even keeled in temperament, but he came to compete every rep. Honestly, I was surprised at the time that he didn’t have any power 5 offers, but it was only a matter of time. Now Bradley will make his way to Tempe, Arizona to play in the PAC-12.
