In this post, it's all about the offensive side of the ball and specifically the skill positions at running back and wide receiver. We had a pretty special group in attendance on offense and they showed out. We're taking a look at a few of them here. Stay tuned to a post on Wednesday which takes a look specifically at the wide receivers from the 2026 class because that group was deep!

The Lions are loaded on the offensive side of the ball and one of their top receivers returning is sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='268307' first='Brayson' last='Carter']. The Blanchard passing attack specifically has a chance to be arguably the best in Class 4A this fall. Carter is a big part of that. And Saturday was our first chance to see the Blanchard standout in person and he performed incredibly well. Both of his 40 times were under 4.6 and while he isn't the biggest wide receiver, he knows how to get separation and he's not slight either so he won't be pushed around. He showed that when it was time to go up against the DB's.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["353410"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"One of the top overall prospects in the state's 2025 class was in attendance on Saturday with Wynnewood standout [player_tooltip player_id='353410' first='Caden' last='Knighten']. This was our first chance to see the small school product in person after seeing him from afar tear up Class A during the 2022 season, earning him a spot as a finalist for our Player Of The Year award. Knighten tested incredibly well, which isn't surprising because he's outstanding on the track. Then it was time to break into individual drills and 1 on 1 competition and Knighten once again showed why he should be considered one of the top offensive weapons in the state for the next two seasons. He might play quarterback for Wynnewood but he's one of the top skill players in the state.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["593641"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"We updated the state's 2025 rankings this week and one of the newcomers to the rankings was North Rock Creek standout [player_tooltip player_id='593641' first='Caleb' last='Hawkins'] after a stellar sophomore season. Hawkins was already going to be in the latest update regardless but then we got a chance to watch him in person this weekend and he actually did work on the offensive side of the ball. He was one of the state's leaders in interceptions last season and we have him listed as a defensive back. But you watch the film, see the production and then see what he was able to do on Saturday and there's definitely some versatility to his game. Hawkins is definitely a name that we're going to keep an eye on moving forward, regardless of what position he's playing.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["315662"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"Another player that stood out to us for his versatility on Saturday was Morris sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='315662' first='Dakota' last='Chaney']. The small school standout was another prospect that did not care about playing on just one side of the ball. He got as many reps as he could during 1 on 1 competitions at both wide receiver and at defensive back. Chaney is incredibly quick. He is one of the smaller prospects on this breakdown so that quickness and speed is necessary to get separation from bigger defenders. In a camp setting like Saturday, Chaney was able to excel because of that quickness and change of direction, it was impossible for defensive backs to keep up with him without holding or putting their hands on the sophomore.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["192621"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"One of the bigger athletes on this breakdown is Metro Christian 2024 standout [player_tooltip player_id='192621' first='Jaxson' last='Grimes']. The Metro junior tested incredibly well in just about everything we did on Saturday. He ran good times and showed off how explosive he is in the broad jump. Grimes is currently listed as an athlete but it's becoming more and more obvious that his natural position at the next level is at wide receiver. Now, moving forward, it's going to be very interesting to see how Grimes does this fall within the Metro Christian offense. The Patriots lose a lot on the offensive side of the ball and Grimes is one of the lone returning starters and playmakers. That could also open things up for him to have an explosive 2023 campaign.","_player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_5_player":["268317"],"_player_evaluations_5_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_5_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_5_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_5_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_5_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_5_evaluation":"Westmoore 2025 wide receiver Vidal Ortiz II is a wide receiver prospect that we continue to be impressed with every time we see him in person. He has good size, hands and runs good routes. There's a lot to like about his game and he impressed once again at our camp. He did the same thing back in April at our last event and we continue to be impressed with him. Ortiz is an outstanding athlete overall as he is a contributor on the basketball floor and the athleticism is apparent when you check out his vertical and ability to get off the floor. Westmoore had a rocky 2022 season but they have a young roster that grew up last fall and should bounce back in a big way. Ortiz should benefit from that this fall.","_player_evaluations_5_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":6,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-63c6fd74e8c7b"} /-->
