The latest 2025 rankings on Prep Redzone Oklahoma were released on Monday with the Top 100 for the state’s 2025 class. Throughout the week, we’ll be breaking down prospects throughout the rankings. From stock risers and newcomers to breakdowns by positions, it will be a busy week! So keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma throughout the week for more on the 2025 class. In this post, we’re putting a spotlight on the running back position. These are the top five prospects at the position and this class seems to not only be getting deeper, but it’s getting more talented with all five running backs featured here coming in the Top 30 and two are in the top ten.
We kick off the running back breakdown with a look at a prospect that might not be listed at running back in six months. Tuttle standout Brady Mcadoo Brady Mcadoo 6’0″ | 180 lbs | RB Tuttle | 2025 State OK is a very intriguing prospect to us in the 2025 class. He does so many things well that it’s hard to pinpoint just one position for him. On offense, he’s a playmaker as a running back and wide receiver. On defense, he’s a hard-hitting defensive back. And on special teams, he’s shown the ability to take kick and punt returns the distance. So why do we have him listed as a running back? We think that’s where he ends up. Right now, it feels like the natural position for McAdoo moving forward. Now, things could certainly change with two more years of high school football. But for now, we’ll put the versatile playmaker at running back and look forward to seeing what other ways the Tuttle coaches try to use him this fall.

It feels like we’ve written about Wynnewood standout Caden Knighten Caden Knighten 6’1″ | 180 lbs | RB Pauls Valley | 2025 State OK quite a bit in the last month and that’s because we have. First, he was a finalist for our Player Of The Year award. Then, he was a standout at Saturday’s Showcase camp in Broken Arrow. Now, Knighten continues to be a top ten overall prospect in the state’s 2025 class. Knighten would line up at quarterback for the Savages and put their offense on his back as one of the most productive players in the state. But make no mistake about it, Knighten is a running back that happens to be playing quarterback right now. Knighten is also a legitimate track star and that was apparent by watching him during the testing portion of our camp on Saturday. When Knighten has the ball in the open field, good things usually happen. We’re looking forward to seeing how far he can carry the Savages in 2023.

Speaking of outrageous numbers from a running back that’s playing quarterback, we go to Laverne’s Felix Teal Felix Teal 5’9″ | 180 lbs | RB Laverne | 2025 State OK . It’s hard to compare 8-man numbers and stats to 11-man because there is simply more offense in the 8-man game. But even without the absurd statistics, Teal would still be on this list. He helped lead 8-man power Laverne to a second straight state championship in 2022 and played his new role at quarterback incredibly well. And like Knighten, Teal won’t be a quarterback at the next level as he’s a running back that has the ability to be a game changer. As opposed to some of the bigger backs on this breakdown, Teal is not that. He’s a smaller back that takes advantage of his quickness and vision to get into the open field and once he’s there, he’s rarely caught. Teal is definitely a prospect to keep an eye on moving forward.

One of the breakout stars from the 2022 football season was Bartlesville sophomore running back PJ Wallace PJ Wallace 6’1″ | RB Muskogee | 2025 State OK . When we first saw Wallace in person, it was at our preseason photoshoot back in the summer. Wallace just looked the part physically so it wasn’t surprising when we saw him enjoy that breakout year at the running back position. Bartlesville has a legitimate star in the making with Wallace and it only seems like a matter of when, not if his recruitment absolutely explodes. Wallace is a big play waiting to happen every time he gets his hands on the ball. The Bruins would make it to the playoffs in the first year under new head coach Harry Wright. And with Wallace returning at running back, we think the Bruins could take the next step in 2023. Maybe not a 10-2 semifinal season like we saw from Muskogee, but they could definitely be a dark horse to watch.

And we finish off this breakdown with the running back that is holding on to the #1 spot at the position with Idabel running back Ravian Larry Ravian Larry 6’1″ | RB Idabel | 2025 State OK . This guy really impressed us during his freshman season and nothing has really slowed that momentum down over the last 18 months. The only thing that has slowed down Larry was a nagging injury during the 2022 season. It seemed like the Idabel standout could never get his own momentum during his sophomore season and was definitely not at 100 percent at various points throughout the season. Otherwise, Idabel would have been a real threat in the Class 2A race. Despite that, they still found a way to the quarterfinals and as they go into 2023, with Larry back and a wealth of skill talent on offense returning, we like Idabel to be a true contender. If Larry is healthy this fall, we think that he can be a 2,000+ yard rusher.
