Starting this week and throughout the month of October, we’re updating our prospect rankings across the site. This week, we kicked off the ranking update with the 2026 class. Now, we did not do rankings for the current freshman class and this is just a watch list. The first rankings for the 2026 class will come out in January when these prospects have a full season of work under their belt. But in this post, we take a look at the quarterback position. Several quarterbacks have already emerged for their teams. Others are waiting for their turn but already show signs of being prospects that you need to know about. Keep it locked in this week for more articles breaking down some of the top 2026 prospects. And check back each week as we release a new ranking update every Monday!
One of the first 2026 prospects that stood out to us while watching them in person this fall was Millwood quarterback CJ Turnbull CJ Turnbull 6’3″ | 190 lbs | QB Millwood | 2026 State OK . Now, there is no doubt that Turnbull benefits from having some serious talent on the offensive side of the ball. From four-year starter Rickey Hunt to sophomore sensation Jaden Nickens Jaden Nickens 6’4″ | WR Douglass | 2025 State OK , Turnbull has weapons that he can get the ball to and make him look good. But we got a chance to see Turnbull when the weather was terrible and the field conditions weren’t ideal for airing it out. But Turnbull was impressive throwing the ball. There’s something about Turnbull’s physical build and his style in the pocket that reminds us of former Millwood quarterback Montrell Wilson. Turnbull is athletic but doesn’t rely on that, similar to how Wilson operated the Millwood offense. Turnbull and the Falcons are determined to not just make it back to the Class 2A playoffs, they plan on making a run in November.

Out of the five quarterbacks on this list, we’ve seen Stillwater freshman quarterback Conner Quintero Conner Quintero 6’0″ | 180 lbs | QB Oklahoma | 2026 State OK the most. Quintero was at Enid but moved to Stillwater during the offseason. But we’ve gotten a chance to see Quintero the last two offseasons while he played for Sooner 7. He was always impressive and for his age division, he always seemed to dominate opposing defenses because he was so advanced at the QB position. Quintero will have to wait his turn as Stillwater has senior Gage Gundy Gage Gundy 6’3″ | 200 lbs | QB Stillwater | 2023 State OK leading the way. But that hasn’t stopped Quintero from being recruited. He’s one of a handful of 2026 prospects who has already earned a D1 offer, that came earlier this summer. We’ve seen what Quintero can do against competition his own age, we’re looking forward to seeing him at the varsity level against opponents that are 2-3 years older than him. We’re confident that he won’t back down from the challenge.

A few weeks ago, we caught Sand Springs hosting Muskogee and watched the first start of freshman quarterback Easton Webb Easton Webb 6’4″ | 205 lbs | QB Charles Page | 2026 State OK ‘s career. He had been splitting time with Marek Matheson Marek Matheson 6’2″ | 220 lbs | QB Sand Springs | 2023 OK at the position but by the time week four rolled around, Webb had earned the nod to be QB1. We talked with coaches before the game and they talked up Webb and how he’s approached being on the varsity and what they expected from him at such a young age. The ball just flies out of Webb’s hand and there’s no doubt that the arm talent is there. From what we’ve learned, he’s also a pretty strong baseball prospect but that’s not entirely surprising after watching him in person. Webb is just one of two Sand Springs prospects in the 2026 class that are not only already on our radar, but we consider to already be near the top of the class. We’re looking forward to seeing more of his development moving forward.

Similar to Quintero at Stillwater, Union quarterback Jeramiah Ssettimba Jeramiah Ssettimba 6’0″ | 165 lbs | QB Broken Arrow | 2026 State OK is going to have to wait for his turn as he’s backing up one of the better quarterbacks in an older class. For Ssettimba, he’s part of a Union QB depth chart that is absolutely loaded with talent. Right now, 2025 QB Shaker Reisig Shaker Reisig 6’0″ | 185 lbs | QB Union | 2025 State OK is the starter and there’s no reason to think he won’t be QB1 for the next two seasons. But Ssettimba was a prospect that Union coaches were impressed with this spring and summer. The arm strength and touch he shows on his passes is definitely something that is impressive for a freshman. He’s also athletic and can tuck the ball and run when he needs to. But he seems to be a quarterback that uses his mobility to simply extend plays as opposed to taking off and running. It might be a while before we see Ssettimba really have an impact on the varsity level, but he’s a name to watch moving forward.

There’s no doubt that Hennessey quarterback Titan Hix Titan Hix 6’3″ | 210 lbs | QB Locust Grove | 2026 State OK had the best debut of any of the quarterbacks in this class. You can make the argument that Hix’s performance in week zero was the best opener of any freshman in the state. Hix threw for nearly 400 yards and five touchdowns. He also added over 130 yards and a touchdown on the ground. That immediately grabbed our attention and in addition to the production, Hix has the size as he stands 6’3 and passes the eye test early on in his career. Hix has thrown for over 1,350 yards and 16 touchdowns while also adding over 500 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. Hix is coming off another fantastic performance throwing and running the ball last week. Later on this season, Hennessey and Hix will square off with district foe Millwood and we’ll see Hix go head to head with fellow 2026 quarterback CJ Turnbull CJ Turnbull 6’3″ | 190 lbs | QB Millwood | 2026 State OK . That game will have playoff implications as well.
