October is here and we have begun updating all of our prospect rankings throughout the website. Two weeks ago, we released our first watch list for the 2026 class. The first rankings for that class will come out in January. Last week, it was all about the 2025 class. We’ve updated those rankings to feature the top 75 sophomores in the state. You can check out the full rankings RIGHT HERE. This week, we take a look at some of the top juniors in Oklahoma with an update to the 2024 rankings. You can check out the full rankings RIGHT HERE.
In this post, we’re taking a look at some of the top offensive linemen in the state’s 2024 class. Stay tuned throughout the week for more 2024 prospect breakdowns. And keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma next week when we release our 2023 prospect rankings.
While Hodges has held on to the top spot among offensive linemen, there isn’t much that separates the top three guys at the position right now. Going from the interior of the line to more of a tackle position with Bixby offensive lineman Brody Duffel Brody Duffel 6’6″ | 270 lbs | OL Bixby | 2024 State OK . This is a prospect that we’ve really liked since seeing him dominate opponents as a sophomore. Then we checked him out earlier this season and he once again passed the eye test. He’s not the biggest tackle prospect but like a lot of Bixby’s players, he rarely makes many mistakes. And after talking with Bixby coaches a few times in the last year, it’s clear to us that Duffel has really impressed them. This is a program that has produced some really good players along the line of scrimmage and they believe that Duffel could be in that same conversation. Bixby’s offensive line was somewhat young coming into this season but Duffel has made sure they haven’t missed a step.
One player that moved up in the recent ranking update and his stock continues to be pointing up is Booker T Washington offensive lineman Darian Melendez Darian Melendez 6’5″ | 315 lbs | OL Booker T. Washington | 2024 State OK . Judging Melendez on size alone, he looks like more of a tackle prospect but his tape features him lining up as a guard. But then you see him move and he has very quick feet and gets in and out of his stance in a hurry. As he continues to improve his hand placement at the point of attack, we could see Melendez being a prospect for a variety of positions at the next level. The one thing we’re waiting on is to see Melendez show that same kind of dominance against the top competition that Booker T Washington sees week in and week out. If Melendez brings that same kind of intensity to those bigger games and has that success against top guys along the defensive line, we could see him moving up even more.

A lot of attention when it comes to NOAH and the 2024 class is on defensive lineman Daniel Okoye Daniel Okoye 6’4″ | 225 lbs | DL NOAH | 2024 State OK , and rightfully so. The defensive lineman has emerged as the new #1 overall prospect in the state’s 2024 class, but he’s not the only NOAH standout that’s highly ranked. On the other side of the line of scrimmage is offensive lineman Ezra Ballinger Ezra Ballinger 6’5″ | 270 lbs | OL NOAH | 2024 State OK , who has been one of the more consistent offensive lineman prospects that we’ve watched over the last year. Checking out his sophomore film, plus seeing him in person this spring, his hands were incredibly active and he attacks his opponent very quickly. We’ve mentioned before how it’s an “iron sharpens iron” possibility with Ballinger and Okoye being on different sides of the line of scrimmage. But Ballinger is definitely a prospect to keep an eye on. He has the production and film to continue climbing up the rankings in future updates.
Highlights
We mentioned how the top three offensive linemen in this class are not separated by much at all at this moment and Norman North tackle Harrison Utley Harrison Utley 6’4″ | 285 lbs | OL Norman North | 2024 State OK is the third member of that trio. We really like Duffel and Utley at the tackle positions while Hodges is more of an interior offensive lineman. Utley has been the most active so far in his high school career when it comes to his recruitment. He’s been on plenty of visits, camps and has received a few offers already. Technically speaking, Utley is incredibly advanced when it comes to his moves along the offensive line. Like several other top offensive linemen, Utley has benefitted from working with J.R. Conrad and the Trench Mafia training group. And then you look at what Norman North has done this season, especially in the ground game and it’s hard not to be impressed. Utley has been a consistent top ten prospect overall and nothing has changed in this latest update.
