Stats: 11 Catches | 216 yards rnIt was a tough week for the Sand Springs community following the loss of several students in a car accident. The Sandite community rallied together on Friday night and the football team tried to bring some kind of normalcy. The Sandites were victorious in a high-scoring game with Ponca City. Both teams did plenty of damage with the passing attack and Sand Springs senior wide receiver Brody Rutledge Brody Rutledge 6’3″ | WR Sand Springs | 2023 State OK had a really great night in that department. He finished with just over 200 yards on 11 catches. Rutledge has proven to be one of the top targets in this Sand Springs offense. The Sandites are starting to use two different quarterbacks within their offense. But it doesn’t matter who is under center, Rutledge has shown that he can be a serious playmaker for the Sandites.
Stats: 300+ Passing Yards | 4 Touchdowns rnHomeschool football teams have top performers too! NOAH got a big win on Friday night over Chisholm and the Jaguars were led by their junior quarterback Chet Green Chet Green 6’2″ | 215 lbs | QB NOAH | 2024 State OK . We covered Green this offseason during our spring ball tour as well as checking out his sophomore film. And seeing what he was able to do to Chisholm on Friday night, it’s no surprise as his game continues to get better and better. Green finished with over 300 yards in the passing department and four touchdowns. One touchdown that made the rounds on social media that also caught our eye was one where the righty was rolling to his left, reset his feet and launched a bomb into the end zone. Green has put up some good numbers so far this season but Friday’s performance was without a doubt the best s far.
Highlights
Stats: 9 Catches | 154 Yards | 3 Touchdowns rnThere were a few players this week that came up short with their teams on the scoreboard but they were still top performers and Pocola junior standout Garrett Scott Garrett Scott 6’2″ | 170 lbs | ATH Pocola | 2024 State OK is one of them. Our basketball site Prep Hoops is in the middle of a ranking update and Scott is a dynamic guard that has a bright future on the court but he’s shown that he can also stand out on the gridiron as well. Pocola dropped a game to Mena, Arkansas, who is a 4A program across the border while Pocola is in their first year in Class A. Despite the loss, Mena could not stop the Pocola offense and Scott took advantage of the match-up. He would finish with just over 150 yards and three touchdowns on nine receptions. Pocola has dropped two tough games over the last few weeks but they’re still a dangerous team to watch in Class A.

Stats: 30-40 | 355 Yards | 5 Touchdowns rnMetro Christian improved to 4-0 on the season with a 20-point win on the road in Arkansas as they beat Prairie Grove. Following their big win over Poteau in week two, the Patriots kept it rolling on the offensive side of the ball. Leading the way was senior quarterback Kirk Francis Kirk Francis 6’1″ | 185 lbs | QB Metro Christian | 2023 State OK , who could have easily been a top performer last week for his game against Poteau but teammate Breck Nauman Breck Nauman 6’2″ | WR Metro Christian | 2023 State OK got the nod. Francis absolutely torched Prairie Grove and when you go deep into the numbers, it’s even more impressive. Francis completed 75 percent of his passes and went for 355 yards and five touchdowns. But he didn’t lock in on one guy. His five touchdown passes went to five different wide receivers. We’ve been fans of Francis’ game since his freshman year and he’s backing up the hype every week.
Stats: 23 Carries | 313 Yards | 4 Touchdowns rnChickasha bounced back following a loss to Marlow by beating up on Anadarko on Friday night. Senior running back Malek Murphy Malek Murphy 6’0″ | RB Chickasha | 2023 State OK has been a prospect that we’ve liked for a while now and it looks like he’s taken his game to the next level and should be recruited as some of the top running back prospects. In the first few weeks, Murphy ran for at least 175 yards but he absolutely dominated Anadarko on Friday. Murphy would finish with just over 300 yards and four touchdowns on 23 carries. Murphy almost doubled his season numbers as he had a little over 350 yards through the first two games and he went for over 300 on Friday night alone. Murphy is a unique running back to watch moving forward as he has all the tools to be one of the better backs and it’s starting to show on Friday nights.
Stats: 25 Carries | 176 Yards | 4 Touchdowns | 70 Yard Touchdown Reception rnAfter struggling in the first two weeks of the season, the Henryetta offense got on a roll as they put up nearly 50 points in a win over Hartshorne on Friday night. Leading the way was their junior running back Nick Hudson Nick Hudson 6’0″ | ATH Henryetta | 2024 OK , who had a fantastic performance in week three. Hudson ran for just over 175 yards and would reach the end zone on five occasions throughout the game. He ran for four touchdowns and would also add a 70-yard touchdown reception. Henryetta struggled out of the gate but the 46-28 win over Hartshorne gave Henryetta their first win of the season. Now they shift their focus onto district play and they’re in a tough district in Class 2A. They’ll look to continue the momentum from the week three victory and Hudson in particular will look to keep the momentum going on offense.
Stats: 4 Carries | 231 Yards | 3 Touchdowns | 1 FR Touchdown rnSoutheast is 3-0 and nobody should be surprised as they have some serious talent at the skill player positions and they’ve just dominated fellow OKC schools. Things are about to get much tougher as they go into arguably the toughest district in the state. But in week three, as the Spartans scored 80, it was running back Rodney Fields Rodney Fields 6’0″ | RB Del City | 2024 State OK once again standing out for the Spartans. For the second straight week, the junior standout finds himself on this breakdown and he was even more efficient this week. He finished with just over 230 yards and three touchdowns on the ground and he only had four carries on the night. That rushing average is just preposterous. As if that wasn’t enough, Fields also recovered a fumble for a touchdown as the Spartans kept it rolling in week three.
Stats: 16 Catches | 151 Yards rnAnother team that came up short but still had a spectacular performance was Edmond North and their senior speedster Sedrick Frazier Sedrick Frazier 5’10” | 155 lbs | ATH Edmond North | 2023 State OK . Just like with Sand Springs and their receiver Brody Rutledge Brody Rutledge 6’3″ | WR Sand Springs | 2023 State OK , we have no idea how Frazier was kept out of the end zone against Enid on Friday night. Frazier finished with 16 catches for just over 150 yards. We’ve liked Frazier for over a year now and he’s one of the more underrated playmakers within this 2023 class. Things haven’t been easy for Edmond North over the last few seasons but Frazier has been one of the bright spots, especially on the offensive side of the ball. We like Frazier as a speed receiver who as he did on Thursday, can just rack up catch after catch and end up doing some damage after the catch.
Stats: 11 Carries | 195 Yards | 2 Touchdowns rnIt’s still early on in the season but we have seen a few freshmen stepping up in a big way already through the first several weeks, including a few freshmen who have made these lists. This week we have another one with Newcastle running back TJ Bradford TJ Bradford 6’0″ | RB Newcastle | 2026 State OK . The Racers are 3-0 on the season following a dominant win over Woodward and Bradford had an outstanding night running the ball. He finished with nearly 200 yards on the ground and a pair of touchdowns while finishing with only 11 carries on the night. We know that Newcastle has a really strong quarterback in Jackson Bergt Jackson Bergt 6’3″ | 195 lbs | QB Newcastle | 2024 State OK , but adding a legitimate threat in Bradford to that backfield at the running back position makes this Racer offense one to watch in Class 4A. They could surprise a few teams this season.
