Stats: 7-14 | 110 Yards | 2 Touchdowns | 10 Carries | 144 Yards | 2 Touchdowns rnHeritage Hall 2024 quarterback Andy Bass Andy Bass 6’0″ | 195 lbs | ATH Heritage Hall | 2024 State OK and the Charger offense bounced back in a big way after losing to 4A champion Clinton. The Chargers looked great in a shutout win over John Marshall and Bass showed why he’s one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in Class 3A. In the win, he threw for over 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns and also ran for nearly 150 yards and two touchdowns on ten carries. Bass and the Chargers are going to be a team to watch once again throughout the 2022 season. And after having to sit out last season, Bass is on a mission to make up for lost time. He’s off to a fantastic start so far this season. Bass has shown that he’s just as dangerous on the ground as he is throwing the ball and that’s going to put a lot of pressure on defenses trying to slow them down.

Stats: 17-24 | 281 Yards | 6 Touchdowns | 1 Rushing Touchdown rnOn Thursday, we mentioned Cushing senior quarterback Blaze Berlowitz Blaze Berlowitz 6’3″ | 195 lbs | QB Cushing | 2023 State OK as a player to watch prior to their game with Berryhill. Sometimes we nail those and this is one of those weeks. Berlowitz and the Cushing offense absolutely torched the Berryhill defense in a statement win, beating the Chiefs 54-3. Berlowitz once again put up monster numbers as he would throw for nearly 300 yards and six touchdowns and as if that wasn’t enough, he also added a touchdown on the ground. Berlowitz torched Berryhill on the same day that he committed to New Mexico State. In that player to watch feature on Thursday, we mentioned how Berlowitz was one of the more underrated prospects in the 2023 class but it’s safe to say that he’s not flying under the radar anymore as a D1 commit.
Stats: 9 Catches | 183 Yards | 3 Touchdowns rnThe first of two players on this breakdown that were on the losing end on Friday night is Ponca City junior wide receiver Gavin Cunningham Gavin Cunningham 6’4″ | 195 lbs | WR Ponca City | 2024 State OK . In a shootout loss to Sand Springs on the road, Cunningham was still a bright spot for the Wildcats. He would finish with nine catches for 183 yards and a hat trick for touchdowns with three. Cunningham is a long wide receiver in the 2024 class that we really think has the chance to be one of the better ones at his position. He certainly looks the part when it comes to his size and his abilities on the field. He’s starting to put it all together with his production on Friday night. Despite the loss, Cunningham is certainly going to be a player to watch for Ponca City moving forward and should be on the radar for coaches with the 2024 class.

Stats: 37 Carries | 279 Yards | 5 Touchdowns rnPawnee was able to get a big win over Meeker on Friday night but it ended up being an absolute shootout. The Black Bears would prevail with a 66-55 victory over Meeker and despite the high score, most of the damage was done on the ground. Junior running back Jacob Warnock Jacob Warnock 5’10” | RB Pawnee | 2024 OK might be a little tired this weekend after the workload he had on Friday evening. The Black Bears would feed Warnock the rock and Meeker was unable to slow him down or keep him out of the end zone. Warnock finished with nearly 40 carries on the night and finished with 279 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. Pawnee is an interesting team to keep an eye on in Class A. They’re in a very tough district but could be a team flying under the radar until they knock off a team or two in the playoffs.
Stats: 25 Carries | 205 Yards| 1 Touchdown | 5 Catches | 55 Yards | 1 Touchdown rn3A’s top ranked Lincoln Christian isn’t unbeatable as they went on the road and lost a close one to Arkansas powerhouse Shiloh Christian. The loss was the first regular season loss for the Bulldogs since the 2018 season. Despite the loss, Lincoln still has to be considered the team to beat in Class 3A when you look at what they’ve done against Oklahoma competition. And in the loss to Shiloh, Lincoln Christian senior running back John Washington John Washington 5’9″ | 175 lbs | ATH Lincoln Christian | 2023 State OK had a fantastic night. He would end up carrying the ball 25 times for just over 200 yards and a touchdown. Washington is also just as dangerous as a wide receiver as he is a running back and Washington finished with 55 yards and a touchdown on five catches. Lincoln looks to start a new regular season winning streak this week.

Stats: 17 Carries | 247 Yards | 2 Touchdowns rnElgin is in their first year in Class 5A and they’ve looked pretty good so far this season, but the schedule is going to get much more difficult now that district play is here. As Elgin has started the year with a 3-0 record, they’ve had a few players standing out throughout the first few weeks. In their week three win over Weatherford, junior running back Matt Lund Matt Lund 6’0″ | RB Elgin | 2024 State OK looked outstanding with nearly 250 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground. In terms of west side districts in Class 5A, Elgin finds themselves in the easier of the two. So it’s not impossible to see the Owls potentially making a run behind a young but talented roster. If Lund can put more performances like the one he had against Weatherford, Elgin is going to be a tough team to beat in district play.
Stats: 30-40 | 486 Yards | 4 Touchdowns | 2 Rushing Touchdowns rnIt was arguably the game of the night as Pawhuska would rally in a big way to knock off Woodland in an exciting finish with a 48-46 victory. A week after falling to rival Hominy, the Pawhuska offense could not be stopped against Woodland, although they got off to a slow start. But once senior quarterback Todd Drummond Todd Drummond 6’4″ | 200 lbs | QB Pawhuska | 2023 State OK and the Husky offense got rolling, Woodland had no answers of slowing them down. Drummond put up the best passing numbers of week three with nearly 500 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75 percent of his passes. He would also add two touchdowns on the ground, including what would end up being the game-winner late in the fourth quarter. After a tough non-district slate, Pawhuska and Drummond now focus on district play in Class 2A.

Stats: 17 Carries | 209 Yards | 3 Touchdowns rnFew players in the state have been as explosive through the first four weeks as Muldrow senior running back Trenden Collins Trenden Collins 6’2″ | ATH Muldrow | 2023 State OK . We knew about the Muldrow product as a defensive back but this year, he’s moved to running back on the offensive side, in addition to still playing defense, and he is excelling in a major way. Muldrow improved to 4-0 on the season, jumping into the top ten in Class 3A behind another stellar performance from Collins. He ran for over 200 yards and three touchdowns in their win on Friday night. In the first four games of the year, Collins has had at least three rushing touchdowns in all four games and he goes into district play with 13 touchdowns on the ground this year. Muldrow is quickly turning into a team to watch in Class 3A behind the explosive Collins at running back.
6 Catches | 185 Yards | 2 Touchdowns rnSimilar to Collins at Muldrow, Enid senior wide receiver Tykie Andrews Tykie Andrews 6’0″ | WR Enid | 2023 State OK has been one of the more consistent playmakers over the first few weeks of the season. As Enid improved to 2-1 on the season with a win over Edmond North, Andrews showed that he’s a wide receiver that needs to get more looks when it comes to playing at the next level. Andrews finished with nearly 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns on six catches in the win over the Huskies. Andrews has been incredibly impressive through their first three games so far. He’s had at least 150 yards and two touchdowns receiving in all three games this season for the Plainsmen. If Enid is going to surprise some teams and steal one of the playoff spots in 6A-1, they’ll need Andrews to continue to produce at the level he’s currently on.
Stats: 27 Carries | 221 Yards | 5 Touchdowns rnFriday night was senior night for Carl Albert as they took down Elk City 45-2, handing the Elks their first loss of the season. Anyone who has checked out our preseason coverage throughout July and August knows that we like this Carl Albert team not only this year, but moving forward. So on a night that the seniors were celebrated, it was junior running back who dominated the game. Xavier Robinson Xavier Robinson 6’2″ | 225 lbs | RB Carl Albert | 2024 State OK has had an excellent start to his junior season and dominated the Elk City defense on Friday night. He would carry the ball nearly 30 times and finished with over 220 yards and five touchdowns. Robinson was rated this summer as a top ten overall prospect and after the first few games of the season, it’s hard to see many other ’24 running backs as talented as him.
