These young men have competed at various college camps, showcases and 7on7 games this summer and each of them show that they have matured their performance from their previous year. Here are five more exciting quarterbacks who we have not mentioned before but you should definitely know for this Fall 2022.
Dante Torres Dante Torres 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB St. Anthony's | 2023 State NY , St. Anthony’s HS 2023
Dante is a 6’3 190 pound pro style QB who has great release and touch on all of his throws. He controls the tempo of the entire field and can deliver a variety of throws whether it’s short passes over the middle, he can drop over and around defenders into his receivers hands. He understands how to modulate the velocity and trajectory of his throws relative to his receivers. His accuracy is next level. Dante can also burn defenses with his legs. He sells the PA and RPO game so well and times his runs perfectly freezing safeties and linebackers in their tracks so that he can takeoff through the open gap or outside the tackles. He threw for 2296 yard last year with 21 TDs. This was a top ten performance last year and we look for him to make an even bigger leap into the top 5 conversation for his senior tenure.
Cristian Pinto, Farrell 2024
Cristian is a trustworthy qb who has a great touch on his throws and a quick release. He plays strong and twitchy at 5’11, 170 pounds. He has next level ability to lead his receivers and placing it to where only they can get it. He also displays his accuracy with throws on the run down field or towards the sideline that are usually difficult for others to deliver. He plays with great speed and very agile to make defenders miss and still make the throw. His quick decision making can also lead him to roll and run in into 1st down territory or in the end zone for 6 with his 4.6 speed. He fits well within Farrell’s offensive scheme. Overall Cristian has a high ceiling, low floor and can have success at the next level with the right scheme. He threw for 1273 yards in 2021 and we can expect this production to take a big jump this year as this offense develops.
Devin Page Devin Page 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Kellenberg | 2023 State NY , Kellburg Memorial HS 2023
Devin is a 6’3 and 185 pound athletic QB that is always looking for the big play. He plays with confidence and speed. He is a true dual threat passer who opposing defenses should respect. He has good arm strength to push the ball down field with just a bit of wind up. He racked up 1575 total yards throwing 13 touchdowns at 65 % completion rate and rushing for 2 scores of his own. Kellenburg has high expectations this season and if Devin can add to this type of production and polish his mechanics he may very well much land in conversation as one of the top QBs in NYS.
Mykel White, Aquinas Institute 2023
We have already mentioned Aquinas championship pedigree and this could be an exciting year for them behind the arm of Mykel White. The 6’3 and 185 pound QB threw for 1491 yards in his junior year with a 65 % completion rate. He does really well under pressure and doesn’t get frazzled. He has good athleticism to consistently avoid sacks and allow receivers to get open. He is pass first but if all options are not there he is more than capable of taking it into the end zone for a rush score. He has great arm strength and very good mechanics. His release is smooth and on time. He can make difficult throws such as out routes at front of pile line, back corner of end zone with unbelievable accuracy and touch. His ball placement is some of the best I’ve seen in the state and with 21 touchdowns on the season and only 7 interceptions it’s easy to say he makes pretty good decisions on the field.
John Michaelski, Moore Catholic HS 2023
John is very strong 6’2 and 195 pounds with an absolute cannon for an arm. His release is quick and the trajectory of his long balls are high arcing that drop right into the bread basket of his receivers. He has amazing touch on his throws long and short. His textbook mechanics make him an immediate impact player at the next level. His toughness, leadership on the field and athleticism to take and run when needed make him an instant favorite for college coaches of any system. John threw for 1826 yards in his junior year with 16 passes for TDs. John also rushed for 577 yards and found the end zone 6 times scoring with his legs. He is a strong runner and very tough to bring down. John easily has FBS talent but he will be taking snaps for Sacred Heart next year after his recent commitment to the Pioneers
