Phillips had a final three of BYU, Cal and San Diego State before choosing BYU.
He told Greg Biggins of 247Sports that BYU’s move to the Big 12 was a major factor in his decision.
Phillips is a big guy at nearly 6-foot-5 and has tremendous body control for his size. He can make caches in traffic and should be an early contributor at BYU.
Mater Dei star sophomore receiver Marcus Harris Marcus Harris 6’1″ | 175 lbs | WR Mater Dei | 2025 State CA picked up two Pac 12 offers this week from Colorado and Oregon.
Harris was Mater Dei’s second leading receiver in its season opener against West Salt Lake of Utah with 93 yards on three catches with a touchdown.
The sophomore is up to 11 offers now.
San Juan Hills sophomore outside linebacker Weston Port Weston Port 6’2″ | 225 lbs | LB San Juan Hills | 2025 State CA picked up an offer from Colorado this week.
Port got to play on regional television against one of the top programs in the state last week and followed it up with a three sack performance this week against Cypress.
He is the No. 1 linebacker in the 2025 class according to Prep Redzone and the No. 6 overall player in the class.
Port is up to 19 offers now with some recruiting experts thinking Ohio State is leading the pack.

JSerra (San Juan Capistrano) sophomore receiver and defensive back Logan Christensen Logan Christensen 6’0″ | 185 lbs | DB JSerra | 2025 State CA picked up a major offer from Michigan this week.
Christensen is one of the top sophomore athletes in the state and is playing two ways for a good JSerra team this season.
Michigan joins Arizona, Florida Atlantic and Louisville in offering Christensen.
