Cathedral Catholic (San Diego) safety [player_tooltip player_id="145169" first="Marcus" last="Ratcliffe"] announced his commitment to San Diego State on Sunday.
He chose San Diego State over other offers from Arizona, BYU, Cal and Colorado among others.
Ratcliffe is a lengthy safety at 6-foot-3 and makes violent hits on ball carriers and receivers coming up the middle. He even comes up and plays in the box sometimes for Cathedral Catholic.
He recently visited Cal and Colorado but decided to stay close to home. He is the second player in San Diego State’s 2023 recruiting class joining [player_tooltip player_id="261729" first="Ryan" last="Silver"] of Serra (San Mateo).

Simi Valley class of 2023 edge rusher [player_tooltip player_id="261721" first="Carson" last="Mott"] announced his commitment to Cal on Monday.
Mott is a lengthy edge rusher at 6-foot-5 who had 47 tackles, 10 for a loss with 6 sacks for Simi Valley last season.
He chose Cal over Fresno State, Princeton, San Jose State and Utah State among others.
Mott is the second player in Cal’s 2023 recruiting class joining [player_tooltip player_id="25395" first="RJ" last="Jones"] of St. John Bosco.

Inglewood class of 2023 cornerback [player_tooltip player_id="25401" first="Jonah" last="Lewis"] announced his commitment to Nevada on Thursday.
Lewis recently visited Kansas but chose Nevada over seven other schools that offered him.
He is under 6-feet tall and 175 pounds but is a good ball defender.
Lewis is the third player from Southern California in Nevada’s 2023 recruiting class, joining [player_tooltip player_id="145247" first="Jax" last="Leatherwood"] of Scripps Ranch and his Inglewood teammate [player_tooltip player_id="261763" first="Jaden" last="DaCosta"].

Lincoln (San Diego) running back [player_tooltip player_id="145173" first="Roderick" last="Robinson II"] visited Auburn and was offered by Florida State last week.
Robinson is up to 23 offers now.
I saw him at the Under Armour Next All-American Camp and he looked thicker than expected and did good in the 1on1 passing portion of the day. He runs a sub 53 second 400 meters for the track team at Lincoln.
Robinson told 247Sports that his visit to Auburn was beyond his expectations. He has a commitment date set for August 18.
