Mott announced his commitment to Weber State on Tuesday.

The defensive end was originally committed to Colorado, but was told his commitment would not be honored when Deion Sanders was named the head coach at Colorado.

Mott is the fourth player from California in Weber State’s 2023 recruiting class and the first defensive player in the class.

Simi Valley put forth a dominant defensive effort in a 49-12 win against Royal.

Mott was constantly in the backfield causing problems. The Colorado commit had six tackles, five for a loss with four sacks.

The four sacks were a career-high for Mott, breaking his previous high of three that he had in his second varsity game as a sophomore.
