The following list of pass catchers were standouts as freshmen, with a few already picking up some FBS offers. They still have plenty of room to grow physically, and we should see them become contributors next fall. Here’s who you need to know!
Eric Slater Eric Slater 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Roseville | 2025 State MI , 6’2″, 180, Roseville
A major redzone threat with terrific body control through traffic. Slater is fearless going across the middle of the field and has sticky enough hands to haul in passes after taking a shot. He’s smooth transitioning out of his cuts and knows how to eat up a corner’s inside leverage. On tape, he’s a high-volume blocker that can help spring a perimeter run or pass.
Deshaun Lanier Deshaun Lanier 5'11" | 165 lbs | WR Chippewa Valley | 2025 State MI , 5’11″, 165, Chippewa Valley
Lanier made some filthy acrobatic catches in 2021 and made it look easy. He shows exceptional concentration and the ability to easily defeat press coverage. He’s quick-footed and has some quality build-up speed behind him. This kid can go up & get the football and has some underrated YAC ability. This is a tough kid who will fight for you from whistle to whistle and won’t back down from bigger defenders.
Cashus Shivers Cashus Shivers 6'0" | 185 lbs | ATH Cass Tech | 2025 State MI , 6’, 175, Cass Tech
A speedy prospect that knows how to set up opposing defenders in man coverage. Shivers can drop his hips and stop on a dime at the top of his route. He quickly accelerates out of his stance and will eat up a defender’s cushion in an instant. He can even add value as a four-phase special team ace.
Eddie Narva, 5’11″, 150, University Liggett School
A shifty slot that catches everything thrown his way. Narva is a major threat on the intermediate level and can create yards after contact. He’s not a blazer on tape, but he is a crafty route runner who will make you pay if your eyes aren’t disciplined. He has the vision to spot the cutback and is sneaky effective in the red area.
Alex Graham Alex Graham 6'1" | 185 lbs | ATH Cass Tech | 2025 MI , 6’, 170, Cass Tech
Graham’s film is limited, but from what I have seen this kid has an abundance of potential. He’s a freaky athlete that is quite springy and can go get the 50/50 ball. He can press the field vertically and is a natural hands catcher. I wouldn’t be shocked one bit if he played corner at the next level, either. Look for him to be yet another emerging star out of Cass Tech.
