Here are some top defensive players from Southern California that are expected to be at the event.
La’Mario Claiborne La’Mario Claiborne 6'2" | 240 lbs | DL Oak Hills | 2025 State CA , Damien: He is one of the most polished edge rushers in his class. He knows how to use his length and strength to get leverage on offensive linemen and can beat you with speed and power moves. I saw him at the Giant Skillz Showcase and he got some good buzz with other scouts there. The previous Prep Redzone Showcase was a little low on linemen and I hope Claiborne gets a chance to shine against quality offensive linemen.

Marco Coleman Marco Coleman 5'11" | 175 lbs | DB Bishop Gorman | 2024 State NV , Mater Dei: Coleman is a defensive back who lines up all over the field for Mater Dei and even was playing in the box a little bit on his film. His strength is tackling and flying up the field to stop screens and outside runs. He is physical in man pass coverage and it will be interesting to see how he matches up against the receivers at the showcase. I want to see if he can keep his physicality without drawing penalties. Texas Tech has offered him and he should be one of the best defensive players at the event.

Frankie Edwards III, St. John Bosco: Edwards is a promising corner who plays in an absolutely loaded St. John Bosco secondary, which may be the best in the nation. He has been getting work with the Premium passing league team and he claims to run a 4.5 40-yard dash. He times his deflections really well in coverage. Saw him at the Under Armour Next All-American camp and he was more muscular than I expected at 170 pounds.
Got some great work in at the Under Armour Next Camp Series in L.A.!! @UANextFootball @boscofootball @mikehuntley63 @GregBiggins #humbleandhungry pic.twitter.com/D0GaNUBM6V

Joseph Libutti Joseph Libutti 6'0" | 195 lbs | DB Mission Viejo | 2023 CA , Mission Viejo: Libutti has fun film to watch because he is playing a lot of man coverage as a corner which is what camp football basically is. Mission Viejo runs a lot of man coverage with two high safeties. Libutti is physical and has good instincts. His experience in press man coverage makes him a candidate to shine in a showcase setting.

Nikita Persson, Cathedral Catholic: I have not seen a lot of Persson but he is 6-foot-2, 210 pounds and has the physical tools to be a college linebacker. He can pass rush off the edge and drop into coverage. He plays for the best team in San Diego and it will be interesting how he does on Sunday.
