R.J. Stephens, 2023, Sacred Heart Prep
Stephens is an impressive three sport athlete (football, track/field, basketball) and immediately passes the eye test at 6’2” 235 lbs. with a strong and well-built frame. He continuously beat opponents throughout the day with a good combination of both strength and athletic moves. He fires off the ball with an explosive first step and good pad level/leverage to quickly gain penetration. He’s violent and overpowering at the contact point using both his upper and lower body strength to win one on one battles. Plus natural athleticism, he shows good command of a variety of moves using his lateral agility and body control to spin, swim, or use his quickness to turn the corner on offensive lineman. At this point he’s an under the radar prospect that deserves to be more highly recruited.
La’Mario Claiborne La’Mario Claiborne 6'2" | 240 lbs | DL Oak Hills | 2025 State CA , 2025, Damien
Claiborne showed off an impressive skillset for a 2025 defensive lineman. At 6’3” 230 lbs. he possesses a well-balanced frame with good length and strength in his lower half in addition to the growth potential to add weight as he matures. At his age he shows an advanced understanding of different technical moves, he displayed good body control and coordination using a variety of well timed and athletic moves to beat blockers off the edge. Flashed good hand usage and placement to maintain separation and not allow blockers to get into his body. A lot to like about his natural ability early in his HS career with his combination of speed and power. Already collected his first offer from Arkansas State and has a ton of upside and potential as he continues to develop.
Conner Dasmann, 2023, Oak Ridge
As a 6’1” 200 lb. defensive lineman Dasmann is forced to be a technician. All day he displayed his advanced fundamentals that then allowed him to beat bigger stronger opponents in the one on one period. He’s an attacking and active three down defender that can play both the run and pass but shines as a pass rusher. He’s explosive coming out of his stance with a quick first step allowing him to gain positional leverage and set up his attack. A plus athlete with quick twitch ability and good lateral movement to work around blockers and flip his hips to collapse the pocket as a pass rusher. He’s heavy handed and surprises opponents with his strength at the POA with a fast and powerful initial punch. Love the way he uses his leverage to his advantage. He’s aggressive, physical, and relentless in pursuit making him a tough block for anyone who lines up against him regardless of size.
