Every Friday in March and April, we’ll take an in-depth look at prospects across Oklahoma. Each week, we’ll ask for prospects who want their hudl film to be evaluated by us and in these posts, we’ll have some form of a scouting report on each prospect. Each week we’ll be doing this, so if you’ve reached out and are not listed this week, there’s a good chance you’ll be in next week’s feature. Our inbox was absolutely flooded with film over the last week so we have plenty of prospects to get to throughout March and April. This is also a great way for us to see some of the prospects that we haven’t either seen or in some cases, haven’t heard of yet. We can always be better covering the state and this is a great way to see some new players across Oklahoma.
If you’re a prospect or a parent of a prospect and want more exposure this spring, sign up for our Showcase Camp on April 30th in Tulsa. You will compete against the best, be coached by the best and be covered by the best! Use coupon code Knighttour10 when signing up to save $10 on your registration!
Aiden Rhodes – 2023 QB – Woodland High School
Players like Aiden Rhodes are why I like doing these Friday Film Review sessions because we are able to watch the film on players like him. Aiden stands at 6’4″ weighing in at 175 pounds and is an athletic prospect. He has a long lean body that plays dual-threat quarterback at Woodland High School. His Junior year he put up 1,280 yards passing with 17 TDs. He added an additional 1,117 yards rushing with another 18 TDs which put him at a little over 2,600 all-purpose yards. Rhodes does a good job moving up in the pocket to avoid the rush. He can keep plays going by scrambling out of the pocket and keeping his eyes down the field. Rhodes has good ball placement along with good balance with his body. Rhodes steps up in the pocket and throws with pressure in his face. He has a strong arm as I watched one throw with a flick of the wrist for 40 yards to a streaking wide receiver. It will be interesting to see Rhodes at team camp at Rejoice to see if he has added any weight. I believe Rhodes will be a good college prospect at the next level and could see him pick up interest from some D2 schools. Once his film and name get out there more I could see Rhodes picking up steam with some offers.
Jackson Rhodes Jackson Rhodes 6'3" | 185 lbs | LB Woodland | 2024 State OK – 2024 WR/LB – Woodland High School
Another player from Woodland and another Rhodes who happens to be related to Aiden. Rhodes finished the season with 18 catches for 301 yards with 5 TDs. Where he shined was on the defensive side where he totaled 123 tackles with 15 TFLs. The first thing that caught my eye about him was him getting downhill making plays in the backfield. He is fast to get to the ball carrier and has a good motor from start to end. Rhodes likes to play physical and punish his opponents upon arrival on the tackle. He plays sideline to sideline and doesn’t hesitate or wait for the ball carrier to come to him. On the offensive side of the ball, he made plays catching the ball and running it. He is a strong runner and runs behind his pads. He is a physical player on both sides of the ball. I think we will see Rhodes on the defensive side of the ball at the next level. Jackson Rhodes Jackson Rhodes 6'3" | 185 lbs | LB Woodland | 2024 State OK will be a player to watch not only at Woodland but for the state of Oklahoma as a Prep Redzone prospect for the 2024 class. With his size at 6’3″ and weighing in at 180 I could see Rhodes projected to play inside or outside linebacker at the next level.
Kayden McGee Kayden McGee 6'1" | WR Muskogee | 2024 State OK – 2024 WR – Muskogee
You can see why Kayden McGee Kayden McGee 6'1" | WR Muskogee | 2024 State OK is a prospect on our list to watch for the 2024 class. He has quick feet that are always moving as he is running throughout his routes. Mcgee does a great job of locating open space and sits down on green grass. Mcgee uses his body to get in position to make the hard catches and shields the defenders from the ball. In and out of breaks he looks smooth and fluid in his route running capabilities. This past season he had 24 receptions for 545 yards for 4 TDs for the Roughers. Mcgee will give Jamarian Ficklin Jamarian Ficklin 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Muskogee | 2025 State OK another option on the offensive side of the ball as a receiver. We should see these two hook up plenty of times throughout this next season. I would like to see Mcgee catch the ball more with his hands instead of his body. Once he can put it all together we could see his stock rise as a wide receiver which will help him out overall this season.
Woods Harrell – 2023 WR/DE – Bethany
Woods Harrell’s film started and the first play I watched was of him playing defensive end tracking down the quarterback from the backside. I was already engaged in watching this prospect for the rest of the time. At 6’1″ weighing 190 pounds he looked big coming off the edge. He is a stand-up edge rusher for Bethany that looked comfortable in this position. Harrell was relentless on his pass rush or catching someone from the backside running away from him. He is featured as a starter for both sides of the ball as he also plays wide receiver. He will line up in the slot mainly but will also play a wideout. With his size, he will go up and go get the ball. He showed us that he has good eye-hand coordination and seems to find ways to get open. Harrell shows that he has soft hands that helped him with 30 receptions this season for 495 yards with 4 TDs. Harrell has the body size to play at the next level at inside linebacker where I like him on the defensive side of the ball.
Zane Thrasher – 2023 DE – Lincoln Christian
Another 2023 standout that we took a look at tonight was Zane Thrasher from Lincoln Christian. When we talk about Lincoln Christian year in and year out they always have great talent on both sides of the ball. A bit undersized, at 6’0″ weighing 190 pounds, playing defensive end doesn’t interfere with Thrasher’s game. He is quick off the ball and does great at slanting at the line of scrimmage. What I like about him is his motor which is always moving. Thrasher gets down the line of scrimmage quickly and plays physical when making contact with the ball carrier. He plays physical for the Bulldogs and fits the mold the coaching staff looks for with their defensive personnel. I would like to see him use his hands to engage with the offensive lineman and be violent with his hands. Thrasher makes an intriguing prospect with his skill set but I would need to see more at different positions to gauge where he could play at the next level.
