Feb. 7 PowerStrength Notes – C/O 2024, 2025, 2026
Among many of the elite upperclassmen at PowerStrength, there were also a select few up-and-coming athletes ready to break out next season. We have two C/O 2024 players I have a great feeling about, a C/O 2025 QB that’s been turning some heads as of late, and one C/O 2026 receiver that I’m confident will be an elite prospect in a few short years. Here are my notes on each of them.
Jayce VandenHout – Rockford WR – 2026
Look out for Jayce VandenHout in the next few years. As an 8th grader, Jayce is already attending intense workouts and working his rear end off. He’s built exceptionally well for his age, and he’s amazingly athletic. He’s not attending PowerStrength by chance; it’s evident that VandenHout is dedicated to his game and will become a beast if he keeps this up.
Tommy Becker Tommy Becker RB Rockford | 2025 MI – Rockford RB – 2025
Becker is big into lacrosse, as he already holds multiple accolades. He jumps out of the gym for his age group, posting great speed, athleticism, and lifting prowess. Attending PowerStrength says a ton about his work ethic, and he’ll be a varsity dual-sport beast soon and likely a top lacrosse prospect.
Beau Harris Beau Harris 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Coopersville | 2025 State MI – Coopersville QB – 2025
A potential sleeping giant in the OK-Blue, Beau Harris Beau Harris 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Coopersville | 2025 State MI is a great QB who’s been working his tail off in the weight room. I remember being very impressed by his freshman tape, as he displayed a high IQ with a great arm. Now, he’s working on getting faster and stronger at the same gym where All-State QB Zak Ahern Zak Ahern 6'2" | 175 lbs | QB Rockford | 2022 State MI trained. Look out because his work during the offseason will translate onto the field.
Mike Murphy Mike Murphy 5'11" | 205 lbs | ATH Grand Rapids Northview | 2024 State MI – Northview ATH – 2024
A prospect that will surely rise in the next 2024 rankings update, Murphy heavily impressed as an all-around athlete with relentless effort. He’s built very well, deadlifting up to 365 pounds as a Sophomore. His Twitter bio reads, “I will outwork you,” and I see no smoke and mirrors there. I’m looking forward to seeing Murphy’s work pay off during the regular season.
Matt Stotts Matt Stotts 6'0" | 205 lbs | LB Forest Hills Eastern | 2024 MI – Forest Hills Eastern LB – 2024
An athlete that wasn’t on my radar until now, Matt Stotts Matt Stotts 6'0" | 205 lbs | LB Forest Hills Eastern | 2024 MI is built just as a linebacker should be. He’s athletic and muscular with a great work ethic. Like everyone training at this gym, Stotts is poised for a great 2022 season. I’m looking forward to seeing some film of his this coming season!
