What We Learned after 2nd Round of Playoffs

From game-day performances to recruiting, here are some things we learned after the second round of playoffs &nbsp; <strong>Freshman Playoff Debuts</strong> <p style="padding-left: 40px;"><strong>Bishop McDevitt QB [player_tooltip player_id="154352" first="Stone" last="Saunders"]</strong> – Saunders’ playoff debut was almost perfect in a blowout win. He went 13-for-15 283 yards with 2 touchdowns and zero interceptions. Regular season highlights are below.</p> <iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/14713215/6166e2803df58205402dba59" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe> &nbsp; <p style="padding-left: 40px;"><strong>Pittsburgh Central Catholic CB [player_tooltip player_id="169963" first="Xxavier" last="Thomas"] </strong>– Thomas led his team in interceptions when the regular season ended. He added another pick in his playoff debut making it 4 total on the season. Below are season highlights for weeks 6-9. Thomas is personally my number one DB in the ’25 class.</p> <iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/16500339/618c51b9478ea90568ed76aa" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe> &nbsp; <p style="padding-left: 40px;"><strong>Aliquippa RB [player_tooltip player_id="220266" first="Tiqwai" last="Hayes"] </strong>– The young WPIAL standout had 2 touchdowns in a blowout win. Hayes and another young running back combined for 250 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns. Below are regular-season highlights. Hayes had 107 carries just over 1,000 yards with 10 touchdowns in the regular season.</p> <iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/16125476/617f12e804284b0438315477" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe> &nbsp; <strong>QB’s Gateway [player_tooltip player_id="64000" first="Brad" last="Birch"] vs Penn Hills [player_tooltip player_id="98220" first="Julian" last="Dugger"] </strong> Dugger came out with a big win against a top-notch WPIAL program for the first time. Dugger rushed for 117 yards and had 2 first-half rushing TDs. He didn’t do too much after that though. Dugger was in and out of the game quite a bit in the 2^nd half. Birch really struggled most of the game missing a lot of throws. He went 20-for-39 321 yards with 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. On Birch’s last drive of the game, he did take them down the field to have an opportunity to kick a field goal to tie the game at the end of regulation, unfortunately, the kicker missed it. &nbsp; <strong>Sto-Rox ATH [player_tooltip player_id="64012" first="Josh" last="Jenkins"] went off</strong> In a Sto-Rox blowout win against Mohawk Area, Jenkins went 13-for-14 411 yards and 6 touchdowns. With the Vikings, you never know who the leading performer will be since they have a few players who can ball out. Last week was [player_tooltip player_id="91497" first="Jay" last="Pearson"], this week it was Jenkins’ turn. Jenkins also carried the ball 3 times for 51 yards. Below are game highlights. <iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/13268073/618f70c8b3c87201448e5117" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe> &nbsp; <strong>Kiski OL [player_tooltip player_id="27581" first="Brandon" last="Lawhorn Moore"] Commits</strong> Moore is currently our 49^th overall ranked player and 7^th ranked offensive lineman in the 2022 class. He committed yesterday to Miami (OH). Moore is someone who I thought would be a G5 kid. His last few offers were FCS, but his last G5 offer came back in February so it was interesting to see where was going to end up. Miami (OH) was the only G5 school recruiting him as of late it seems like. https://twitter.com/Beef10520385/status/1459629799790587921 &nbsp; <strong>Scranton Prep RB London Montgomery adds PAC-12 Offer</strong> Montgomery added his second offer with Arizona State. His first offer came from UConn about a month ago.
