First off, Happy Memorial Day to everyone out there and we would like to thank all the men and women who have served in the armed forces to protect our freedom. Every Monday, we update you on all of the recruiting news from across the state. From offers to commitments and everything in between, we’ll have you covered. This week, the offers started slowing down as visits are about to open up all over the country in the beginning of June. Several prospects picked up their first offers, one elite prospect is ready to narrow things down and plus every other offer from the last week. As always, you can follow us on Twitter to stay up to date from the moment an offer or commitment happens. @PrepRedzoneOK
THIS WEEK’S TOP STORIES
First Offer Alert!
Two more 2022 prospects picked up their first offers within the last week. First, it was Victory Christian athlete Luke Freeman tweeting out that he had earned an offer from Bucknell. That was followed by Midwest City defensive end
Shamaur Edwards

picking up an offer from New Mexico. Freeman is a versatile athlete who stood out for Victory last year as a wide receiver and a defensive back. He has good size and showed this spring that he has some speed to his game as well as he was a crucial part of Victory’s track program.
For Edwards, this offer was a long time coming after his breakout junior season. The Bombers had some talent on last year’s semifinal team but Edwards became the breakout star of this Bomber defense. Whether he was lined up at linebacker or closer to the line of scrimmage, Edwards was an absolute disruptive force. He finished the year with well over ten sacks and was one of the team’s top tacklers. The defensive line and linebacker positions are so deep in Oklahoma right now. However, Edwards is right there with some of the better guys at this position and more colleges should take note.
McClellan Ready To Narrow Things Down

has had a very busy offseason and it’s not slowing down anytime soon. McClellan transferred from Edison to Owasso and has picked up some massive offers over the last five months. He’s also earned All American status and last week he tweeted out that he was ready to narrow things down. He already has a few official visits planned and more are to come. But he tweeted out that on June 3rd, he would announce his first cut down. Whether it’s a top ten or top eight, that remains to be seen. We don’t believe that McClellan will narrow things down dramatically to a top five or anything like that, but it will certainly be big news when that announcement comes.
SEC Comes After Hasz Again
Last week, we wrote about Bixby 2023 tight end
Luke Hasz

picking up two offers from SEC programs. Literally hours after we published that Recruiting Report, Hasz picked up another SEC offer and it came from the reigning national champions. Alabama extended an offer to the Bixby big man last week, yet another blue blood program that is coming after the 2023 Under Armour All American. Later in the week, Hasz earned an offer from Ole Miss, making it four SEC offers in about ten days.
Whenever you have a prospect like Hasz who picks up offer after offer, the cliche thing to write in these things is “pretty soon, the list of schools who haven’t offered will be shorter than the ones who have”. Whether it’s true or not, that part doesn’t matter, it’s all about saying just how dominant this recruit has become when it comes to racking up offers. It might be a cliche but it’s becoming true for Hasz. Every week, more P5 programs offer him and there is no reason to think it’ll slow down anytime soon.
