About Xavier

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is very focused, competitive, always strive to be the best not only in games but in practice as well. Very aware of my position and what I need to do, I’m very vocal and communicate to make sure everyone is on the same page in order to compete at a high level.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My personality is very laid back. I get along with everyone. I’m a natural helper in whatever environment I’m in. I’m funny, caring and enjoy being happy. I love being around my family and friends.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m involved in travel baseball outside of school sports with Thunderwolves Prime 2028 team. I also participate in band in school, I’m in percussion, I play the drums. I’ve received many academic awards over the years.Mainly for honor roll as well as a WEB (where everyone belongs) leader award in my last year of middle school.This award was given to those students who exemplified what a leader is.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I keep developing my leadership skills as I’m a player that most look up too so I strive to learn all I can to show others what to mirror. Teamwork has always been important as I play team sports, everyone has a job that must be done in order to achieve the team goal. Learning this over my years in sports makes a team run easier and more effectively. I do community service with my church weekly.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I’d say my biggest challenges in life was losing my aunt a few years ago and my grandad a couple of years ago. Trying to remain focused during grief was hard. They both were very involved in my life and followed me in sports that doing what I love and knowing they are looking down on me makes me want to be better each time I play.

What type of college are you looking for?

I still have some time but I would like a school that fits me. My personality, my education needs and then sport opportunities. I want to go to a school that would afford me the opportunity to be great as a student to be prepared for after college and sport wise that fits best for me and that I can learn and play at the next level.

So few players make an impact as freshmen, especially in the Monsignor Martin League. But, Gates-Franklin was the Crusaders starting CB right out of the gate. He has excellent instincts and the ability to track the ball in the air. His closing speed is solid and he plays well whether he is man-to-man or in zone.
