a spot in our rankings and for good reason. Thomas is a strong safety with a nose for the ball and good open-field tackler in space. He also flashes tremendous effort when chasing down RBs and receivers who get past the second level. He recorded 76 total tackles, two interceptions, three pass breakups and a forced fumble last season.

is a starting safety for South Putnam High School, and helped lead his team to a state championship victory as a sophomore. I expect Thomas to have an even bigger season next fall: his abilities in coverage to break up passes, time the ball well with his hands and force incompletions is uncanny. He also flashes good closing speed and can get downhill, run and hit in a hurry.

is a starting safety for South Putnam High School. Thomas, a class of 2028 recruit, is very good in coverage, batting down passes and making plays on the ball. Thomas can high-point the ball and flashes great ball skills. He can also get downhill as a run defender and wrap up. He also flashes a high motor and great effort in pursuit. At 6-foot-1, 195 pounds, he has great size and a frame for the position.

Thomas is a guy I really like on film because of how natural he looks at safety. He’s got a good build and isn’t afraid to come downhill to play the run, which shows me he’s confident and sees things well. He takes good angles and doesn’t waste steps, which is rare to see consistently at smaller schools. He’s light on his feet and stays off his heels, so he’s able to adjust and react without getting stuck. He plays fast and trusts his eyes, and I think he’s the type of player who could surprise people as he gets more exposure.
