Ty was a lockdown defender for Olentangy through the first half. He was in the backfield, making first contact with his physicality or making tackles. He is a smart defender who has advanced play IQ. He had an interception after reading a fake screen pass and getting back to the vertical receiver. Ty has a lot of potential this season to rise in our rankings.

Ty Gebhardt Ty Gebhardt 5'10" | 180 lbs | DB Olentangy | 2028 State OH is a very good and rangy safety for Olentangy who is strong against the run and pass. Gebhardt is very quick to read and react against the run. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound defensive back has great closing speed and a nose for the ball. Gebhardt can come down and play in the box, is a strong open-field tackler and defends the flat extremely well. He recorded 44 tackles, two forced fumbles, one interception and one sack last season.

Ty has stepped up into a starting safety role for the Braves. He’s a plus athlete who can make plays both in coverage and run defense. He’s got great instincts for a sophomore and makes plays everywhere on the field. I am intrigued to see how he handles himself in the playoffs, as I think he can make a name for himself facing off against some of the top competition in Region 3. With a bit more size and experience, his play recognition and athleticism will carry him far, potentially developing into an FBS-level prospect.
