Olentangy vs Upper Arlington Top Performers

<p>Week One is here, and I traveled to Olentangy for a Region 3 matchup. Upper Arlington took it home 40-7 in an impressive win, but players from both teams stood out during the contest. I could only catch the first half, so these write-ups are based on first-half information. </p>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Upper Arlington</h3>    <p class="text-gray-700">Nolan was a playmaker for Upper Arlington. He made an incredible interception, coming from behind the receiver to cut off the route. He also caught a touchdown pass on an incredible athletic play in the red zone. He ended the game with nine total tackles and snagged another interception in the second half. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/TylerStevens94/status/2090948490436427887?s=20 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Reign made his first appearance for Upper Arlington and showed good promise. His arm was live, and the ball looked great coming out of his hand. He's well-built and already has an advanced size profile. Once he gets more comfortable in the offense and more reps under his belt, he'll take off even more. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Charlie also played quarterback and technically started for the Golden Bears. On the first offensive snap of the game, he threw for a touchdown after evading pressure. He also had another touchdown in the red zone on a well-placed fade ball. Charlie has a good build and can push for the starting QB job himself. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Andrew has impressed me since the first time I got to watch him. He runs through contact and is a handful to bring down. He runs with a good pad level. Theado is also a threat as a receiver and can get downfield targets. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Edward was an all-district and all-conference kicker who committed to Yale over the offseason. He nailed 2 field goals before halftime, one from 23 yards out and another from 45. </p>    <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Olentangy</h3>    <p class="text-gray-700">Ty was a lockdown defender for Olentangy through the first half. He was in the backfield, making first contact with his physicality or making tackles. He is a smart defender who has advanced play IQ. He had an interception after reading a fake screen pass and getting back to the vertical receiver. Ty has a lot of potential this season to rise in our rankings.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Mike was Olentangy's most reliable receiver. He has a great frame that allows him to win vertically. He is a good possession target who can find holes to sit in and serve as a safety blanket for his QB. He can line up both inside and outside and overall is just a versatile piece for an offense.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Will impressed last night. He runs with good contact balance and was able to bounce off tacklers. He is a patient runner who allows holes to develop up front before bursting through. He is a reliable guy in the backfield who will fight through contact. </p>
