Charlie also played quarterback and technically started for the Golden Bears. On the first offensive snap of the game, he threw for a touchdown after evading pressure. He also had another touchdown in the red zone on a well-placed fade ball. Charlie has a good build and can push for the starting QB job himself.

Charlie found playing time with the Varsity squad as a safety this past season. He’s a lengthy defender. He is quick to react to run/pass and can put himself in a good position early on in plays. He is a disciplined defender who makes tackling look easy. Charlie can use his length to make great plays on the ball and is very useful in the redzone. It’ll be interesting to see if he sticks with it as a defender or goes back to the offensive side of the ball.
