With a knack for getting up and under the pads of opposing offensive linemen, ultimately shedding blocks and disengaging with the blocker in order to make plays in the run game. Though he isn’t the greatest athlete, Ruby makes up for it with high motor and violence against opposing offensive linemen.
The senior-to-be put together 49 tackles, 4 tackles-for-loss and 1.5 sacks last season for the Hawks.
Ruby spent last season terrorizing opposing offenses as a Bllard junior. According to his X page, he’s since transferred to Ankeny, where he will take a step up in competition. If his ?s=20" rel="nofollow">11th-grade highlight video is any indication, he’s prepared for the challenge. He’s a versatile performer on the D-Line, physically controlling opponents lining up inside in a 4-3 alignment and beating them with speed coming off the edge of a 3-4 set. On top of that, he works effectively from both inside positions on the 4-3 or either outside spot on a three-player front. That gives coaches a student-athlete they can mold into the best player he can be depending on development. Ruby piled up 49.0 tackles, 40 of which were solo stops, in 2025. He had 4.0 tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Ruby is another guy that could raise his college stock by attending camps this summer and showing what he can do.
Footage of Ruby in action on his Hudl page is limited, It contains individual game highlights. He also posted a short highlight video on social media. From those clips, Ruby’s potential is apparent. Whether with a hand in the dirt or standing up, he’s a problem coming off of the edge. Ruby operates within the framework of the defense and plays his lane. Technically sound at the point of attack, he finds the right move based on the block. He disengages from offensive linemen with strength and active hands. His quickness for his size makes it challenging for opponents to stay in front of him.
