Tanner Mintz Tanner Mintz 6'1" | 220 lbs | DB/LB Archbishop Hoban | 2025 State OH has matured into a complete linebacker with big upside thanks to his aggression and athleticism. Mintz has evolved from a player that is a weapon primarily against the run to a total-package player who can play well in coverage as well. Maintains his abilities as a player who launches himself at the play and can make stops with multiple blockers in his path. Shows patience when dropping into coverage to read a quarterback’s eyes to anticipate his intended target. Already come up with a couple of turnovers this year by positioning himself where the quarterback isn’t looking. Mintz looked great on the field last night keeping on assignments, adjusting his body quickly to the play and making stops. His recruitment has expanded to several DI offers from Robert Morris, Kent State and Toledo to no surprise as his film and upside continue to grow.

rnA physical run-stuffing linebacker for one of the best defenses in the state, has a high ceiling thanks to his ability to take down ball carriers with authority. Mintz showed a lot in his sophomore season, but his best trait is his physical aggression when bringing down ball carriers. His form tackling make him a force coming from the outside linebacker position. Mintz commits to the play from the snap and comes in with intensity from his position to stop plays. When in coverage, Mintz uses his speed to get to his spot and when the ball is in the area he can separate the ball from the carrier. Mintz’s intensity from the position make him another name to know on a defense that has been producing DI talent for years. On the radar of UConn already, Mintz has all the potential with two more seasons to leave an impression on coaches to find a home at the next level.
