This offseason Henry transferred to Archbishop Hoban from the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania area. The talented running back came to Ohio with a long list of D1 offers from the likes of Michigan State, Ole Miss, and North Carolina and many other Power 4 schools. When I watch his film, I see an explosive running back who runs with great vision, tempo, and contact balance. He’s shows patience as he hits the hole letting the play develop and then is able to use his blockers to set up his run. He plays with great pad level and is able to take contact and run through arm tackles. When he gets out in the open, he has the speed to turn average plays into chunk plays.

Jance Henry is a playmaker who can score anytime he touches the ball. He has great body control; when he gets hit, he runs through contact and maintains his balance. Also, when he hits the hole, he does a great job being physical and running through contact. Henry is a player you can throw the ball to in space and is a dynamic kickoff returner who can score anytime he touches the ball. He recently picked up an offer from Temple, and I expect more offers to come his way.

Last checked in on Jance Henry back mid-April, yet the last four weeks have been noteworthy.
Since our latest update on the top ten PA prospect, Henry went on to receive a phone call from Kam Martin, the running backs coach over at UCF. The conversation led to a scholarship offer for the freshman back. In the same week, Henry created quite the buzz after announcing his first SEC offer out of Ole Miss. A massive stamp of approval came Henry’s way after the Wisconsin offer earlier in the year, now with the SEC validating his skillset, the sky is truly the limit, thus is his ranking as well. Michigan State, West Virginia, and UConn have all offered the Central Valley back since.

Here is an exciting 2027 prospect that is starting to burst onto the recruiting scene. I want to mention first that the freshman prospect received his first offer back on 10/27 from UNLV. Jance Henry Jr out of Central Valley is slowly but surely becoming “National Recruit” status. Back on 3/10 Miami Ohio offered the 2027 prospect. Then on 4/6, he took a trip out to Wisconsin to visit the Badgers. He picked up on an offer from the Badgers when on campus. Henry Jr later visited Syracuse on 4/13 where he picked up another P5 offer. I’m excited to see Jance continue to ball out during his sophomore campaign. He’s only going to continue getting better.

Central Valley’s stud blue chip prospect, fresh off being named a top ten prospect on our 2027 board, number two back in his class, adds yet another offer to his growing suitor list. Miami (OH) joins Toledo and Akron as the three MAC programs to extend a scholarship offer to the CV back. Henry carries a Power Five offer out of ACC’s Pitt, Henry is likely to hear back from every MAC school that recruits Western PA. That’s his floor, his ceiling will likely have him hearing from BIG10 schools as time progresses.

Henry is a very exciting prospect on both sides of the ball, and he’s only a freshman! As a RB, he has stop-and-go quickness mixed with speed. Jance runs the ball with good vision and balance, which allows him to break tackles. He’s a very dangerous WR out of the backfield who took a long screen back for a score against Hampton. Henry sets his blocks up well and showcases next-level speed and quickness when he has the ball. On the backend, he has football intelligence mixed with toughness for tackling across the middle of the field. He runs the alley aggressively once he reads the run from the safety and lays the wood. His coverage and ball skills are above average for a prospect who just started high school. Jance pedals at a good tempo with the right pad level at DB. Henry is yet another potential D1 prospect out of the 2027 class who has performed well in the first half of ’23.
